Ok, but if you want to get technical, :raspberry ...

Your web browser only loads each image once, so if that image is on the webpage more then once,it will display it multiple times, but only load it once.
Also if your web browser sees that you are always incountering the same image (ex, a smilie that is used alot) it is stored in a temp folder for usually 1 or 2 days. Finally, these smilies are very small in file size. It takes longer to load 1 avitar then all of the smilies  You will see this yourself if you download each smilie and add up the file sizes and then compare to an avitar.

:raspberry See i know what im talking about when it comes to computers :D They don't call me Da-computer-nerd for nothing you know... Actually no one ccalls me that but O WELL! :D :D :D

Heres an example of my college work

Thats an ethernet & microcontroller board I made and wrote a driver and TCP/IP stack in motorolla hc12 assembly. I was an amateur back then.
PWNED :D
I don't tell anyone I know anything about these dreaded creations though.. I hate reinstalling windows. As snoop dog said, the game should be sold and not told.

Actually I'm a software guy by trade. I'm good with digital circuits but I can't do anything that processes analog signal besides maybe a simple power supply. Analog == Math  I forgot everything after algebra
I'd kill for access to a PCB milling machine. Don't have $15k to spare though :( I ended up being really good at building boards and soldering chips that small. My goal was to make everyone else's project look like trash and I think I achieved that.
The software on that thing was even better, TCP/IP in assembly is hard, no OS whatsoever, not even a friggin stack, I dunno what I was smoking. Oh wait, yeah I do.. that was good stuff http://smiles.zy.cz/140.gif. Hardware is sexier though, chicks dig hardware :(

Dude, thats really impressive work you got there. I could never do that. :(

I agree with you that reinstalling windows is the biggest pain in the you-know-what. I manage all of the 6 computers in my home, and all have had windows at one point or another, and it takes forever to install everything, drivers, etc. I do a little computer consulting for friends if they are having a problem or something, but your work is by far some of the best I have ever seen. Keep it up! :D

See, now you know why I can't stand the software side of things. I'm in it for working with physical layouts and such; setting up new networks with switches, routers, etc. MUCH more fun than being chained to a C compiler all day :x
