Was browsing through the catalogs at work today and noticed GM has started adding Trailblazer SS items. So I thought I would post a picture/drawing of the much maligned exhaust system. It appears up to the muffler inlet it's similar to that of the SSR, but is quite different from the muffler outlet to the tailpipe. To bad this vehicle cant have true duals from the factory. Oh well that's about the only thing I don't care for on the TBSS. Sorry the picture is so small.

yeah i would have thought for sure they would have gone dual exhaust on the SS. Even the bumper is shaped like it should have duals.

I recall hearing something about crash testing and something to do with the bumper shape and exhaust pipes. Dont really know what happened, but I do know the first SS bumper was scrapped for a more convetional one due to crash testing.

Anything yet on suspension? Front springs (TB supposed to be lower) and info on the ECAS rear?

Sounds like a first MOD requirement to me...

The springs are not yet listed by the "SS" package. They are cataloged by spring codes. The only thing I could find on the ECAS stuff was a Yaw sensor
that retails for $178.94. They do have part#s on the front and rear sway bars that come with the SS package.

There's the 10 HP right there.

Did they leave room underneath to run aftermarket duals tucked up like a stock system?

They can make another $1,000 off of every owner.

I wonder if the crash tests are always on the drivers side?

I have the Corsa system on my Z71 Tahoe... It sounds GREAT and the duel tips are cool too. I'm sure they'll come out with a system for the SS. I'll be first in line.

I heard that too but if chevy was that concerned with safety theyd build the TB/EV to get better than 3 stars in the frontal crash test...:m2:

Here's an old pic showing the duals out the bumper, also a rear window "visor" that probably didn't work with the high mount stop lamp. This looks exactly like the one I took pics of last year including the LED tails.

It's too bad GM didn't go with the red break calipers... I may paint mine when it comes in.

That will be one of my first mods. Connecting the iPod to the nav system will follow shortly.

Me too! I don't even have a TB SS on order yet, but when I finally get one sometime next year, I plan to paint the brake calipers red.

I did this on a '98 Sebring Silver Corvette that I had with Z06 wheels. I loved it...

Your Vette looks sharp with Z wheels on it!!

I went with red rotor hat covers on mine to stand out against my black wheels...

:x Sorry Jman.... Back to the exhaust topic... I wonder why the General didn't at least do a system like the '04 GTO had? At least it had two tips.
