I just got my BOSS 316's installed today and apparently I need centering rings since the rim is only sitting on the lug studs, and not the wheel hub. Has anyone used thes because I can't seem to find any in Ottawa.. Anyone have any ideas? Heres a Pic

Well, not sure if this is going to help but in a thread that I started called "lug nut size" someone mentions that some clips need to be taken off the rotors/hubs in order for the wheel to seat all the way in. Not sure if you did that or had to do it?

Love the rims!

As for your question, I dont know. I know our TVs are hub centric not lug centric, but there are some rotor retaining clips you can remove that might help this out a little.

Google hub centric rings.

Check out this link: http://www.1010tires.com/hubrings.asp

You'll need to find out what the center bore diameter is on your wheels, and then find out what the hub diameter is on your TB, and then find a hub ring to suit those specs.

Hmm, the shop that mounted my tires indicated that I would need them when I brought it back for rebalancing. (Had a virbration). The rebalance fixed the vibration, however I contacted American Racing just to check on whether I needed hub rings and was told that this application didn't need them. First thing to do is contact the wheel manufacturer and verify you need them, just because the local shop saids you do doesn't actually mean that you do.

The clips that everyone has mentioned are small foil type clips used to hold the rotors on during vehicle assembly.....so a rotor doesn't fall off as the vehicle travels the assembly line and whack one of the workers in the head. They're useless once the caliper is installed, however if the rims aren't machined for clearance they'll keep the rims from seating completely on the hub and cause a wobble/vibration....they're typically removed and discarded whever the rotor is taken off to perform a brake job or other service. Best to remove them when installing after market wheels.

i just realized that when i was driving it home from installation, i heard what seemed to be like a big rock picked up by the front right tire and slung under the truck...but now that i think of it, the metallic sounds it had makes me belive it was a rim weight..gonna check it out tonight when my dad brings the truck home from work...

Most the wheel built in the trailvoy bolt pattern are for the trailvoy so that means that the wheels should be hub centric already. do make sure the rotor retainer clips have been removed or that will surely cause an out of balance feeling. there are not alot of autos with the same bolt pattern as the trailvoy so they don't have to make the hub fit alot.

make sure they use tape weight to balance the tires. hammer on weight don't stay on chrome wheels very easy

I have been looking around have yet to find another vehicle that has the same bolt pattern as ours besides buick and such. Do you know of any other vehicles with the same pattern?
