I had my rear view mirror fall off about a month ago, went to the stealer and the glued it back on. Will it fell off again today and took a chunk of glass with it.

Do you think it will be covered, or will I have to go through insurance ????

They should definitly cover it. Why is it doing that though, do you have some kind of wild system? If so, don't mention anything about it, they fixed it the first time and have set a presedence so they will have to fix it this time.

Yes I do have a system, but its only 1 JL 10w7 Thats not that much to do it is it  . I took it out tonight, and i will tell the stealer I was just putting a air freshener on the mirror ;). Does that make me a bad person

Don't tell them you were doing anything with or around the mirror. If you do, they may try to throw it off on you.

Thanks for the tip, I will say I was just driving along in my automobile and then bam. Maybe I should also say my wife went to grab it and cut her hand on the glass.

Yes that will add a sympathy factor for your wife. You should kill a squirrel too and let some of the blood get on the dash for believeability. Then say that you were so nervous and upset about your wife and the fact that you had to speed to the hospital without the use of your rearview mirror that you had a nervous breakdown (start jerking, twitching, and randomly cursing at this point). Demand free service and gas for life and performance mods while constantly breathing in and out through a paper bag and babbling about medical bills and lawyers.

Seriously though, I would say that I parked the vehicle and when I came back it had happened

;) A warranty matter, period. Don't go into a long-drawn out explanation...simply tell them you were driving down the street, hit a bump and the mirror fell off...continue by asking...I think you guys fixed it for me one time before...unfortunately this time it looks like the glass is broke...
 When a customer starts talking about liability (i.e cut hand, wife is twitching, etc) you will be directed to contact CMD and file a product liability case.
 They (CMD) will request you to leave your vehicle at the dealership ,without a loaner also because it is no longer a warranty matter, but "product liability"...They will not assist you, because anything they do may now be used in a court of law and giving you anything in a product liabilty matter may be misconstrued as fault on their part.
An adjuster assigned to the case may contact you and attempt to resolve this issue over the phone....in some cases, I've seen customers' cars sit for 3-4 weeks before someone comes out to inspect the vehicle.
Kinda like shakin' the tree to get all the rotten fruit to fall out...
Definitely a "sucky" situation

Went to the dealer and told them that I was ending a call on my onstar and when I pressed the button the mirror broke right off. They ordered me a new windsheild and it should be fixed on tuesday (Under Warranty). He also mentioned something about a different windsheild being used now on the trailblazers something about the black shaded parts on the top.

They covered my center console when I broke it.

Hey Leon...that was smooth....glad it worked your way. Hey vetruck..the information is factual, but I meant it jokingly. I was imagining Leon standing in the service drive with his inside mirror in his hand , wife standing next to him. His wife has the large neck brace on, head bandaged like a mummy, one eye patched, one leg in a cast, crutches, etc....oh..also twitching...all because the inside rear view mirror fell on her lap/leg. Then I see the service advisor nailing 'ol Leon to the wall with all this information....classic GM rhetoric...

I was going to call onstar and start asking them some stupid questions, then drop the mirror on the dash, and start yelling at them saying wtf kind of car did you people sell me. :D

I dont know why you guys are all so scared of the dealer. I am a service writer for a Chevy dealer in Jersey, and we dont care. We warranty everything. We didnt build the car. Plus GM pays us to fix it.

Then I thank you for doing it the way it should be done. Do you generally cover work on TSB's? I haven't found anybody that would fix my fan clutch so far.

or for that matter my scratched up side windows.

Please no one believe this. If you mod your car and cause damage and they know about it, 99% of the time they will deny your claim. Some are worse than others and seek out reasons to deny claims (personal experience with Ford). Others will fix it with no problems if there is not something obvious. This situation with the mirror is a blatant warranty issue but when you get into bad MAF's, O2 sensors, drivetrain issues, suspension, it can get ugly if there have been mods.

Yes. We work on everything. As for the post above this, of course if you mod your car, most places wont fix it under warranty ...IF... the mod had something to do with the defect. However, imo, a loud stereo is not grounds to deny a claim for a mirror falling off. If you spend close to $40,000 on a car, I think the mirror should be able to stand up to that. Of course you are going to get some hard ass service places, but for the most part, I go by how the person is to deal with. If they are a jerk, then they can forget about almost anything. But, if they come in and are decent people, we will go to the furthest extent to help them.

Is this why the service department loves to see me coming :D . I always come in with a good attitude first, then I always ask the guys how's their day going  . Then we strike a good convo and everything seems to work out fine  . Not it all cases tho, there are still some jerks out there
