Sorry, if this is a stupid question, but I keep seeing you guys referring to a CAI but I have no idea what this is. Can somebody clue me in? As a defense, I just bought my SS 2 weeks ago and am trying to get up to the same level as everybody else.

:iagree: But think about it, They aren't really cold air intakes because the don't suck in cold air, they're mire like high flow intakes. Cold air intakes are usually located below the car or something

If my mammary serves me correctly, it's not lacated. It's located. For a second, I thought you typed "lactated" because you had boobs on the brain for your 18th b-day. :D

It actually dawned on me last night what CAI stands for, but thanks for the info.
That raises a new question, though, don't all SS's come from the factory stock with a CAI setup?? Or are you guys referring to a bolt-on enhancement that replaces the stock system? Lastly, if there is a better CAI system out there for the SS, where could I go to get it and what sort of perforance gains have a guys seen with it?

Drop down on the FORUM section here to "Supporting Vendors" and nose around there for some info. Several to look at. Good hunting.

do what i did get a vector tune & cai then open up intake by removing grill and dremmel out the opening for more air to come in, than get aluminized tubing(flexable type) and create a path for air to get directly to filter. u must get a small dip ( like a plumbing trap) for water to dissapate. instant fresh air with less heat from engine compartment. sorry no pics this is mine only:mad:

Whoa, you ain't messing around - nice work. I will take a look at things this weekend and see how easy/feasible this set-up will be. I keep seeing this vector tune and cai referred to, but every time a do a Google search I come up with nothing. You have a site or link you can provide me with. Or more to the point, what company puts these things out?
