Just purchased a 2006 Envoy and would like to know if tow hooks can be added to the front. My accessory shop could not figure it out.
Does it require cutting the bumber?
If tow hooks can not be added, is there another way to add something that would allow the vehicle to pulled from the front.
Thanks for helping.

Unfortunately, you'll have to cut the bumper, because the tow hooks attach the the metal piece right behind the plastic. You should probably try something else if youdon't wanna mess with your bumper :worried:

Yes.

I slapped some tow hooks onto the skid plate underneath the radiator, with their opening down (if you have the skid plate option). Bad idea. First time I hit them on a rock offroad they pushed the bottom of the radiator backwards 3/4" and the fan shroud bound up and stopped the fan, until I pulled it back into position using a Jeep as a pull point. (The desert having a distinct lack of trees.)
So then I found the Curt 31055, a front 2" receiver assembly, that mounts to pre-existing frame holes. Into that 2" receiver I can put a tow hook, clevis unit, a mini-skid shield that Curt makes, a spare tire carrier, or my multi-mount winch assembly. People who attended the last SoCal meet can testify that the little loops on the Curt that could be used for tow points are now quite trail-bashed, because you do lose a bit of aproach angle because of the way they stick out. The entire front end is being replaced with a custom bumper by fall, then I might have the Curt 31055 for sale. But my uses are probably not what you have in mind. Here's a couple of pics - the second one has the ini-skid shield installed, but it's dark under there:
