Hi,
I have taken my 2005 Trailblazer EXT 4X4 to have an output seal replaced again after 6 weeks. Is this a common problem? The information on the invoice was:
Part # 12471618
22018 Output shaft seal laking F1441 1.5 1.5-996 Lift vehicle and cleaned the oil and leak test found outputshaft seal leaking remove and replaced seal after repairs topped off the front diff fluid level to fatory spec and road tested vehicle and no leaks found at this time.
I did not expect it to fail so soon. Should I be concerned about it? A friend told me that the yoke may be scored and that is what is eating up the seal. I told this to the service advisor and he said that they checked the shaft and it looked fine.
If it happens a third time, it may be time to get rid of it.
Thanks,
JAlvarado
