Why would you want that tire on a SS?

I had a set of these on my 02 LTZ and they performed very well. I never had them snow because by the time it got cold enough I had already traded it in on my 06 SS. Still have them but they are mounted on some 20s

The G-force KDW II's are a nice tire. I had them on my Mustang and they were 285/35/20. Still very quiet, great traction (wet and dry), and hooked like crazy. I'm fine with the stockers myself for right now though.

I love the Hankook tires and also the G-force one but they don't even make it in a 255/50/R20 unless im blind....... Once my ss is lowered i guess i can determine what size i want, hmmmm.

Send them an email over at hankooktireusa.com I'm pretty sure they make them. Isn't the stock tire 250/50/R20? How much wider can you go with the stockers?:undecided

BLK60SS....To be honest i have never thought of going that route. Im thinking they might charge me up the yin yang to get the sizes i want, but im going to do that right now...

Yes the stock tire size is a 255/50/R20.....

I would like to get a wider size in the back to make the rears look a bit siker, lol.
Im thinking a rear size of a 285/45/20 in the rear of the Ventus ST RHO6, hmmmmmm decisions decisions on the long weekend, lol.

I sent them another email this morning telling this one guy to mention to the design team that the SS is a popular suv right now and i think the Ventus rh06 in the size of a 255/50/R20 would be a good tire to make, lol.

I'm in the market for a replacement set, seeing as how once again GM managed to sell me a car with Goodyear Eagle tires that either can't be properly balanced or won't retain balance for more than a week or so.

I'm looking at these Michelin 4x4 Diamaris - I don't believe they'll have quite the dry grip of the BFG, or the bang for the buck as the Hankook, but it will certainly perform as well or better than the OEM Eagle RSA, and because several people in the know told me that on the whole, they have less balancing issues (or overall QC issues for that matter) with Michelins...(also, I'm looking to keep the exact stock size, so my choice is limited)

Not mention they won't spray as much road junk (or rocks) on the side of your truck as the Goodyear tread.

I am thinking of going with a staggered setup with the stock rims when the stock ones wear out. Maybe 265-45 in the front and 275 or 285-40 in the back. has anyone mounted a larger tire on the stock rim?:D

:undecided I thought NorcalSS considered doing this, but found clearance issues.

Stick your hand up in between the upper inside of the front tire and the control arm. You'll rethink trying to go up a size on stock rims without a wheel space (ugh). Not enough space, IMO.

On someones recommendation I went with the Nitto NT420S's. I was a little unsure when I got them, plus wasn't overly excited about the tread pattern, but all I can say is that these tires are great. I have yet to have a problem. They are sticky but are wearing great, and handle all conditions (wet, dry, hot) very well.

The Hankook Ventus ST - RH06 is a great tire for the price, good treadwear and traction year round. I would expect 275/45-20 to fit as well as the stock 255/50-20 size, provided the SS rim has the expected back-spacing.

what is the largest size you can fit on the rear, will a 275 45 20 be ok?

I love the BFG KDW flame pattern. I was going to get them for the camaro but the flame pattern wasnt out yet, so I got the trad. I was also thinking about getting them for the SS, will the 265/45's fit O.K. Looking at the size chart on the website they are the only things close to stock

I think it has been stated many times before on here that in order to go any wider in the front, you would probably want to get some spacers. You can go wider at the rear but remember we only have a 8" wide stock rim, so 275 is pushing the limits of an 8" wide wheel.
