Finally... my change oil light has come on and I have almost 9,000 miles on my TB since new :worried: . Maybe I should get my oil changed soon. I was getting worried that my oil monitoring system was not working properly. Actually, the light turns on for about 10sec after I start the vehicle and then turns off. Should I wait before the light actually turns on before I get my oil changed? :undecided
By the way... this is not my first oil changed (THANK GOD  ). Glad I don't rely on this monitoring system to let me know when to change my oil. You would think that they set and if/and statement in the program to do the first oil changed like 1,000 miles or before, then x miles/revolutions after that for people who don't know. Wish the light would stay on so I restart the crappy system. What mileage did you see your change oil light come on?

i think that the oil change light always comes on for a few seconds on start up, i think it has to stay on before you are supposed to take it in,

Actually, its the last light to go off. After I driven a few feet from where I was parked. In the morning, after I start it up, I let it sit until the RPM's start to go down. Then I pull out of my gargage and drive. By the time I am half way out of the driveway, the light goes off. This has started recently, probably 100-150 miles ago. :worried: Anyways, I try to get the oil changed ever 3,000-4,000 miles since I do a lot of city driving.

My oil light stays on for a minute or two after startup when it's time to change the oil. No matter how long you wait, it will never stay on constantly.

Wonder how you reset it. Tried what it said in the service manual by turning the car to run and press the acclerator three times, but doesn't do a darn thing.

 Um... my total mileage that reads on the odometer is 9,000 miles. Oil changed at 1000, 3000, 6000, and now at 9000. Don't think dino oil breaks down in that short amount of time. :m2:

Nah thats cool. On my dads Alero, the monitoring system is pretty good. When it hits roughly 3-4 thousand, it turns on.
I would hope people should know not to trust these monitoring systems. Just want to alert people of this.

I don't think the oil change lite works, It does lite-up when you turn on the ignition. We went over 10,000 miles on an oil change & it never came on.
