Planning on installing a 2800 stall converter.
I am told this will help me off the line and get rid of, what I think, is a bit of "doggyness" off the line.
Any suggestions?

Converter wont really do anything without a tune, the lag you feel is the tuning for the most part (we can and do fix that of course) Also a 2800 really isnt even worth putting in 3000-3600 is where you'll need to be..

If you're not worried about towing or a little sacrifice in mpg then Yank 3600 is way to go! If you want to keep some towing capability, then 3000-3200 is probably more where you want to be. I would recommend doing tranny cooler with any TC, you want to keep those trans temps down as much as possible. Definitely want the tune before you do anything though, you might not even want the TC afterwards:)

He'll want the tc still. Anything that helps it get out the hole quicker is better

OK..... Where can one get a Yank 3600 TC ?
Got a guy in our trans shop that will install it for a bottle of Crown!
I know, give him the bottle after installation!
