I noticed a squeek today at low speeds like 10 mph. It went away when the truck cooled down. I am not sure its the brakes. Any ideas. It has 350 miles...

Where is it comming from? A lot of people have had problems with the fan clutch going bad and squeeking, but I don't know where your problem lies. But I'm sure through all the knowledge from people on this website you'll get a fix.

I really hope its not the fan clutch already considering you just got your vehicle a week or so ago (if I remember correctly).

It sounds like brake squeeling...but once it cooled off it stopped.
I will drive it tonite and see what happens.

Everything was fine, I dropped my friend at his house, and then I noticed the squeek as I was slowing up to a light. I thought it was the car behind me. As I start off from the light, I hear it again...when I get up to about 25 or so it goes away but it sounds like brake squeel.
You hear it when you drive down a street that has cars on both sides....
Like I said, it seemed to stop after the truck was parked for an hour.

Seems to start after driving for 5 minutes and after brakes are applied.

Is it possible you got a rock stuck between the rotor and the break pad? Im not sure if that would cause a squeak or not.

Dry axle seal. There's a TSB for it. Guaranteed that is what it is.

yo man,

I got the same problem as you. Dry axle seal. Where is that and what's a TSB? Hopefully, that will solve my problem also.

Is this a big deal?

my new SS is doing the same thing. I took it to the dealer and they said they could not duplicate the problem. I told them it only starts after about 10min. of driving. Back I go again!

The bulletin, I believe, being referred to is 03-04-19-002B. This bulletin refers to squeal and/or whistling heard from the frontal area of the vehicle. This noise is caused by lack of lubrication @ the intermediate axle shaft seal and/or the differential carrier seal. I was told the original seal lip angle was incorrect and actually wiped the shaft clean (dry). Seal lips must allow a miniscule film of oil to exist on the shaft for lubricating purposes.
I have replaced quite a few of these seals , but not on current year model vehicle. I remember this to be a popular repair on the earlier models up to about early-to-mid '04 year models.
The bulletin states the noise to be most apparent in colder weather, I have heard it in all weather temperatures. The seal replacement is a lightly intensive job of about 1 1/2 hours.
Although not popular for your year model, the likelihood exists. I might rule out the fan clutch, consider this seal and pay attention to the brakes.
If your questioning this/these seals, your dealership could spray some oil on the seals and let you drive the vehicle for a few days. Oil on the seals, will keep them quiet for a while and help with pinpointing the cause.
Good luck.
