Whats the deal? Is this a major pain ro what? what do people mean when talking about "detonation". Is there some inherent problem with the
I6 excepting a turbo system? GM is supposedly working on an I6 trailblazer twin turbo with 400 HP.

There's a member that installed (actually built) a turbo kit for a trailblazer but based on what he posted you have to do some major modifications in order for everything to fit in place, not sure if the project is 100% complete tho since he hasn't post anything else.... http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=5386

as for the Twin Turbo Trailblazer.... so far I think its a concept http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/performance/163_0208_2002_chevrolet_trailblazer_twin_turbo/

Fattys next mod?

Not my next mod. I start the next one today. :x

I'm always working on a mod of some sort. But a turbo may very well be in the distant future.

There was someone talking about putting the turbo to the rear of the car. I'm interested in this process. Anyone here know anything about this?:undecided

from what i hear- rear mount turbos arent the best. its further from the engine, so exaughst gasses have time to cool down and therefor decrease velocity, meaning a less efficient turbo. Also all that tubing has to be run from front to back.

HHMM, that pic of the TT setup does not look operational at all. There is no way you can put an air filter on the lower turbo, the turbo is way to close to the header, NO intercooler???

They chose the SS's LS2 setup over this TT TB.

Here it is applied to the vehicle:

An intercooler is not always needed in a turbo setup. Especially if you are starting with high compression engine. The turbo can be close to the header and there is a pipe between the lower turbo and air filter.

The they must have changed the design of it slightly in order to work. Intercoolers are not always needed? I tend to disagree. IAT's can be over 200 degrees. You can make alot more power, longevity and mpg with an effecient intercooler. It looks nice but I am very curious on how that thing runs after 30 minutes or a full run, yo will lose alot of power.

There several turbo production cars/diesels that don't have intercoolers.

You, being a GN fanatic should know this. The GNs from 1984-1985 were not intercooled, and still performed very well.(for mid 80's cars of course)

Edit: I just noticed, apparently this TB is intercooled. But where is the intercooler?

maybe that metal siler hose coming out of the block attaches to an intercooler that just isnt shown in that picture,,,chances are it mounts in the lower bumper where the opening is..

isnt that silver box on top part of an intercooler?
Nope...it doesn't look like any intercooler to me. But thats where the hotair hoses run. I'm way confused.

The box is an air to water intercooler, notice the 2 coolant lines.

They sure did but after 30 min of driving they lost alot of power. Why you think Buick spent the money to redsign the intire turbo system and put a intercooler on the last 2 years of production? Why do all the 18 wheels have intercoolers?? its a fact that intercooler gives you power and economy, problem is more money and plumbing.
