ok, this is probably gonna sound retarded but here it goes:
what would be involved in changing the automatic over to a manual transmission? are they the same size? could you just swap it out, jam the stick through the tranny tunnel and put a 3rd pedal on the floor?
money aside, is it possible? :undecided

100% possible. I'm guessing it would cost around 6-8K to get the fabrication and everyhting done.

Including the tranny?

they are making t-56's that can handle well over 1000hp. Plenty of guys converted ImpySS's to T-56's - have a look over on ImpalaSSforum.com and do a search for it....

Should be less than that. You can get a t-56 for $1000-1500 or so.

is there really any fabrication that needs to be done except for the 3rd pedal? it seems like it would be an easy swap. find a t56 from a totalled vehicle and have at it. would love to see the first one done. all my performance vehicles in the past have been manual, it just seems to make you more a part of the driving experience rather than just sitting there.

isn't the t56 way too long for the trailblazer?

Don't they put it in the shorter SSR?

There might be clearance issues with the rear of the tranny and the trans tunnel, but that isn't hard to fix. People have been doing that for decades.
