Does anyone know of a dual exhaust tip that will fit the TrailBlazer, other than the Corsa unit?
I found one on Pilot's site but learned they never produced it. $175 for a Corsa Exhaust tip is just a little too pricey for me.
Angelus Plating makes one but they only have 2 1/2" inlet, the TrailBlazers are 2 3/4". It was $75 but by the time I pay to have it modified, it would be near the price of a Corsa - plus it was a chrome tip, not a stainless tip.
Any ideas? Looking for something other than the butt-ugly turndown that comes stock.
Thanks

Interesting question, i was wondering the exact same thing.. i have the stock system and wanted to just add a tip to the stock muffler.

I too wanted something different than the stock turndown. I went with a straight slash cut 3.5" from Gibson. Cut the old pipe off and put the new one on, it is a bolt on connection.

Did you cut it yourself and what did the tip run you?

I owned a 2002 Envoy prior to my new Trailblazer. I put a single outlet chrome tip, made by Pilot on it.
Cut the angled outlet off so you just have a straight outlet, then screw the new tip on.
The Pilot tip is #551 or #552 available at any AutoZone for about $25. Their site says it is for 2 1/2" but it fits the 2 3/4" TrailBlazer/Envoy without a problem.
But I now want dual tips for my new baby

How is that shine holding up over our salty winter?

I cut the old tip off myself. Pretty easy using a hacksaw. As for shine, I need to clean every so often because it does get pretty grimey, but once I clean it up it shines up pretty nice.

That chrome one on the TB looks awesome! What did you use to cut off the stock turndown? Sawzall or something?
I'd like to find a tip like the one in this picture:

anyone know what that one is from? Looks like it goes with an exhaust (corsa perhaps?)

This is probably a dumb question, but does the exhaust tip actually affect the sound that the pipe makes or is it just for looks? Do you have to get a muffler too in order to get a low rumble?

Mine changes the sound very slightly. If you didn't own a TB as well, you might not even notice the difference. But I put mine on just to get rid of that ugly turndown off of the resonator. To really change the sound normally requires a new muffler. :m2:

Thanks matt. Do you know how much that would cost or have any links?

Mine was $22.95 at Summit Racing. It's their brand, and good quality. Slant tip, rolled edge. The only downside is that it's weld-on. You can get a nice Gibson that is bolt-on at a ton of places online for about $46 or so... :m2:

How much would a muffler cost?

Depends on which one you get. Different ones have different sounds, prices, finishes, it's a wide-open topic to explore. :D
