bought some with the pads off of ebay for my 02 bravada. I can REALLY tell the difference. $270 for the hardware and $150 to get them installed. Best money spent as I haul a trailer/boat a lot.

Here is what I just purchased and they are awesome.

If you need pads for front and back he has them also but I ordered Morse Ceramic Pads for the front and Duralast Semi-Metalic for the rear. Putting the new rotors and pads on are as easy as being able to turn the wrench 4 times on each wheel and using a C clamp or caliper compressor.

The Morse ceramic pads shipped to the house were only 40.99+ shipping - I believe my total for front and rear pads was about $65. I bought them on-line through Auto Zone. They don't sell ceramic in the stores, only on-line. I have only had them for about 2 weeks, AWESOME! http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=C001&UserAction=performSearch&Parameters=Auto+Store%7C%7EREGULAR+PARTS+LOOK+UP%7 C%7EBrake+Pads+-+Front

Same here, I got them when they were $189. I would highly recommend them. I've had mine for about a year now with no warping. Big difference on the stopping.

Hi all, first post --great source of info. Solved front hub problem by using this forum.

As far as brakes, I wasted my money on turning the rotors at 50k since they were warped and installed a good set of pads.

10k later, warped again -- my wife is very soft on cars too! I never had much faith in OEM rotors and should have known better.

Tired of fooling around with junk, I went with Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads all around. $600 do-it-yourself and worth every penny! I have 10k on these --smooth stops never any brake dust and are better than factory for stopping performance. Trailering the camper really was the most noticeable for impressive stopping. I can work these harder than the OEM's and not afraid of warping. You get some noise from the slots but barely noticeable. Worth it for the performance gains.

I bought from these guys http://www.performancepeddler.com/

Only other uprade I have done is buying Michelin Cross Terrains and was immediately convinced that the original BFG "Rugged trail" was the worse tire ever made --especially hydroplaning.

And you like the Michelin???? Thats the worst... Came on my envoy as OEM tires.. DO NOT PULL a heavy trailer with them.. The side walls are paper thin and they tend to sway alot.

Can we get an update on the R1 Concepts rotors and pads? I need to do a brake job on my wife's 05 and for around $200 is isn't even worth trying to get them turned. She has about 38k miles. How are the pads wearing as any issues with the rotors?

Thanks :D

I would HIGHLY recommend the set-up I have with the Rotors and the pads. My stopping power is far superior to the OEM and I have had no problems even towing 3500#. I would buy them all over again. The coating has weathered very well and shows no signs of wear. I am impressed with them.

Hey Bulldog, why did you go with semi-metalic the back? Do you have snow where you live? The reason i ask this question is because I was told by a brake shop technician that the cross drilled rotors may warp in snow conditions. We get a fair bit of snow up here.

Thanks

Isnt warping caused by overheating? and isnt crossdrilling a way of keeping the heat down? ive installed slotted and crossed drilled rotors on all 4 corners last year. because my oem's were slightly warped (im hard on brakes) And so far ive had no troubles at all.. this is in a Montreal winter.
Checked the pads last week 30000k and still 80% now thats a first for me usually i dont go past 40. specially when i roll out the trailers 1 1500pound closed and a 3500pound tent trailer.

What type of pads are you using?

The reason for the Ceramic on the front is to cut down on any Brake Dust since the fronts are notorious for brake dust. I put Semi Metalic on the rear since the rear didn't need the additional cost of the Ceramic Pads. I live in SC but my experience is that drilled and slotted have no difference in weather. The R1's are now a style I have used over some other styles and the beveled slotted ends not capturing any grime or dust appears to be true since mine have not had a build up since I have had them on the TB.
