My dad gave me some catalogs from a show he attended, and one of them happens to be one from Hedman. I browse thru and find they released a couple sets. P/N 69660 (Painted Header) and the other is 69666 (Hi-Tech Coating Header). Just to be sure I called them up and they said its new and out there, just gotta find it. He told me to try Summit, Jegs, and Napa?. Didn't know Napa carried that kinda stuff. I browsed thru some websites and only came up with this:

Might have to start shooting emails to some of these guys and see whats up. Maybe someone else will have better luck on finding these things. :undecided

I Googled this header and that is the only place I found that carried it for that low of a price. The rest are higher. Do a Google search for the other places.

I know it says it fits the 05 trailblazer but does anyone know if it will fit on an 02 envoy?
Should fit 2002 through 2006, just pulled up adds for 4.2L motors on eBay to look at the pics and they all appear to be identical down to the location of the O2 sensor. GMPartsDirect also lists the same manifold for 2002 through 2004, they don't yet appear to have listings for 2005 & 2006.

Does anyone have one of them? I recall alot of talk about the header, but I do not believe Hedman ever actually produced any of them.

When I called Hedman earlier this week, the dude I spoke with said they are released. Its a matter of finding who has it and at what price

Sounds like the folks at Hedman didn't help you much in finding their product.

Ya, not sure what the deal was. I asked if they were available and at what price. Guess they don't sell directly :weird: I got the number for Summit and Jegs so I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.
I emailed Hedman, as soon as I get a response i'll let you guys know.......

Called summit and asked if they had this mystery part. They didn't have it in their system. The sales guy I talked to was really helpful, he did some digging and they use to have a price setting around $280 for the painted and $500 for the coated, this was back in 2005. He called Hedman and was told by them that they in fact are not released and they don't know when it would happen. For $hits and giggles I called Hedman myself and was told the samething. So I guess the dude I talked to the first time was a dumbass. Didn't mean to get anyone excited. I figured if the part is in the catalog (listed as "new" item), that its out on the market. The sales guy at Summit checked there system for any one else how might have a header (Pacesetter, Thorly, etc..) but to no avail. Hedman emailed back saying its still in R & D so I guess the waiting game will continue.......

I emailed Hedman for any updates, this is what I got:
Steve,
The tentative release time is after the first of the year.
Hedman Tech
Maybe there is some light at the end of this tunnel?!?

Hopefully. Let's all call the same person so that one person can "feel" the 4.2 header interest

Ask Hedman about HP gains this is what I got:
Thanks for the quick reply. Look forward to seeing this product. Can you hint as what the HP increase may be?
Up to 10% increase with the hedders.
Hedman Tech
So does this mean at least 20-30HP? Hopefully they will also release a dyno sheet.

that would be a nice increase. Stack a tune, CAI, cat-back exhaust on top of that.

Yep, sounds like they are working on prototyping one now, and from the looks of it when they are done it will be a nice piece.
Now, just wonder what the gains will be for just a header...:undecided

Yea, I might actually be able to have my flange rewelded back onto my Magnaflow setup!
Wonder if it is just a header, or if we have to have the cat cut out a put in a new pipe that is connected to the header? Depends on where the header puts the exhaust, right now its exactly in the middle of the block between cylinders 3 & 4.
