I was looking for a thread that discusses this, couldn't find one so here goes:
Do you warm up your engine before you drive or just drive-off. I heard that it is better to warm up to ensure that the oil could circulate and lubricate all internal parts to avoid damage due to friction. It is the initial start up that has the most friction therefore driving immediately would greatly increase the damage. How true is that? What do you do? :undecided

I let mine warm up until it idles down by itself.

If in a rush... I wait until the oil pressure levels out...

If not... until it idles down.

i also wait, until it idles down, it will definatly help your engine in the long run if you plan on keeping it for a long time

I too let the rpms go down. Normally its good to go about 600rpm.

Yeah im with ya guys. I always let mine idle down for about 15-20 seconds before I take off. Sometimes when you take off too soon and the lifters/pistons/etc are taking up their slack, can be quite disconcerting listening to.
Plus it gives me a few minutes to get the MP3 player going and windows adjusted/moonroof vented :)
