Looking for some advice... Just about to hit 32k on the TB and was wondering what you all thought about the extended warranty?
Spoke to GM and it would be like 2,400 to be covered up to 100k miles.
Do you have an extended warranty?
If yes, with GM?
If not with GM, with who?
Thanks!

Shop around at different dealers, I've heard that some dealers have better deals than others. :m2:

Bought an extended warranty (GM) to 6 year 140KM bumper to bumper for $4,500 Canadian. Didn't want any surprises for at least 5 years. I look at warranty's as an insurance policy. Same concept as car insurance, you pay for years and may never use it.

Yup, you may never use it. But at least you know it there to help you out. I have an extended one through GM myself. I learned the hard way after I had to replace my transmission on my 98 Grand Prix with like 34k on it. Of course, conveniently after the intial warranty expired. :duh:

Great source, good prices and no sales tax if out of PA. Also, you can use the quoted price as a "tool" to negotiate with your local dealer if you desire.

The link is for US residents, which I would have probably researched and used if I could. I had to buy my warranty in Canada.
I definitely recommend an extended warranty. Minor things are so expensive these days to fix. They all add up. I have GM's. $2400 seems a little high. I think I paid $2100 for mine.

Check this out...
Just played the game, called my dealership who wanted to charge me $2700 for 48mo/60k on mine (32k currently)
That website said $1825... called up my dealer... got it for $1760.
Amazing the difference!

I would definately get an extended warranty. Sometimes Trailblazers and Envoys can be a bit lemony...

Joe,
I don't know if your still looking or have signed any paperwork. But I would recomend someone that I worked with. I also have a C5, and I'm on a Corvette forum as well (www.corvetteforum.com). There is a guy that posts (Ken Fichtner) he owns a dealership, e-mail him here kenfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com - Tell him you saw him on the corvette forum website, or you were recommended by someone from the website (ME). Tell him that you have a TB and you what you want in a GMPP and he'll sell it to you at cost!!! It could be a few $$$ :m2: cheaper than what you got.
Give it a try.

Here's the correct info for GMPP - gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com. Send him the VIN and the mileage.

Ken was a little higher on my C5 then the website I posted. He did meet their price, so I bought it from him.

Jeff - That's good to know. I did bookmark your website.
Thanks - Rich
Just a word of advice, get everything fixed before 36k even if you have an extended warranty. I asked about the infamous window scratches TSB and they said the part isn't covered under the "full coverage" warranty I have although it is supposed to cover everything the original warranty covers.

Hi all..newbie here.
I have an 03 Envoy and also got the extended warranty. I would shop around different dealers as well. I got mine for $1506 for 72 months or 75,000 miles. i do have a $100 deductable though which still is not bad.

Do you know if his dealership offers that 12 months same as cash payment plan my other dealer told me about?
