Should I put in a new 7" touch screen dvd pioneer to replace the stock unit my ss comes with? Or should I save the cash for performance parts? Lemme know what ya'll think- i kinda like the idea for tv because i like to watch movies from my trip from DE to school in GA.:confused:

Well, that decision needs to be made by the person who is driving it, and guess what? Its not me, although your SS sounds sweet! Anyways, what do you want more? It sounds to me like you have your system pretty much finished, and the screen will finish it off, and trust me, once you have a screen, you never go back! (sorry for the run on sentance). Personally I would not use a pioneer deck, I would go for a nice Alpine. But, in the end, make up your own mind as its not us that will be driving your SS, it is you. Do what makes you happy!

Yeah I know im driving the ss but I wanted to see what everyone else would do if they were in my shoes. I know that I would love a new headunit bc I had it all in my 03 z71 tahoe. The only reason I like the pioneer 6800 is because I like that it comes with a 6 in dash and I had the N1 in my Tahoe. But since you mentioned alpine, what do you like about their products?

If you mount it high up, them losers can watch the movie too when you out run them!

i have also been thinking about putting a 6800 in my tbss. If you decide to do it, post up some pics, I would love to see the finished product. I had a deal quote me a price of $1000 but i saw them on ebay for less. Dont forget to get the onstar harness and the one so the streering wheel controls still work.

Well, I've had 2 Alpine decks, and 1 Alpine screen and I only had 1 problem with them, and that was for some strange reason my Navi unit wouldnt work. It turned out that the antenna plug was not fully seated. I know that Alpine is more expensive, but you really get what you pay for, and with Alpine I know that Im getting something that is good quality. Just my 2 cents though...
