I recieved my Westers tune a few days ago and installed it (correctly). Then i put in a basslink for giggles a few days later (sounds pretty good). But one of the two seemed to kill my battery. The truck has 47,000 miles on original battery so not to concerned the battery was almost due anyway, but it could be a combo of all three. Idk. But put a new $120:mad: interstate battery in today. So far so good But anyone had any problems with the tune draining the battery. Or anything liek that just want to make sure there is no problem. I also disconnected the baslink temporarily.

Had to change my Batt also last week.. Wouldnt start..
Apparently you NEED more juice to start our engines than normal. This is caused by the ton of electronics, sensors, etc... that are needed to run the engine. (so my GM dealer says):undecided

i Guess so the battery i just got is 700cca. I sure hope thats enough, but with the new pcm there should be no battery drain issue now? it was just a one time installation thing?

i think it's just the battery. I had mine die twice before i added anything to the truck. They seem to add much more electronics to the cars...but don't give you an option of an upgraded battery or alternator.

The battery in our TV's seems to die a sudden death. In my previous vehicles, you could milk the battery for a couple of weeks before you needed to replace it. These go without warning. My OEM battery only lasted 18 months. Don't see how the PCM, or any electronics for that matter, could drain a battery.

Extreme heat like we have been having in most of the US the last few weeks is a real battery killer. Extreme cold will also finish one off.

Could that be my problem. Bad battery, I installed a MRD 650 alpine and and Type R sub 12". The lights started dimming instantly, I installed a cpacitor and I am still having a slight dimness. Wonder if I change the battery to a Yellow top Optima would that solve the problem :undecided

I guess it was just the batteries time to go because i have the basslink hooked up and the new pcm with a new Interstate and all is good. 2002 with 47,000 miles. it payed its dues, especially in colorado. 0 degree to 100 degree weather probobly doesnt help.
