I'm just wondering if anyone heard of any updated rumors about Chevy making the Colorado SS. I'm still crossing my fingers for one to go with my TBSS....

Man, if they do, I hope they make some DRAMATIC improvements over the design of the regular Colorado.

That was the worst vehicle I've had since I started getting new vehicles. What a mistake that was.

There were so many things I hated about that truck. I'll just stick with my TB SS!

:iagree: I remember being very excited when I first heard about the Colorado. I was wanting to trade my 2002 S-10 for something that was slightly larger. I was working at the dealership at the time and was so excited when the first transport load arrived. My excitement turned to extreme disappointment when I saw the Colorado in person. I seriously wanted to puke after looking at it inside and out. On top of that, the sticker price was ridiculous.

GM already has Colorado test mules running around with the 5.3 V8. However, without a ridiculous price difference it will be hard to bring to market because it would destroy the value of the 4cyl. and 5cyl. models. GM shouldn't have brought the truck out without a 6cyl base engine and a V8 optional.:m2:

I read an article just yesterday that said the H3 will have the 5.3 V8 sometime in 2007.

:iagree: The I6 should have been in it from the start. Also, an optional V8 would be nice.

I blew the doors off an H3 a couple months back. I guess he thought because he had a Hummer and 20" chrome rims that he would be faster than my lowly Trailblazer. He found out differently :dielaugh:

The 5 in the H3 was just plain wrong.. They should of put a diesel in it. The 5.3 should work good in it.

Well, I hope GM produces it, but only if they change the engines to either a I4/I5 OR a V6 and then make the SS the optional V8.

And, the reason GM made the I4/I5 was because the GMT-355 cant fit the I6, the frame isnt big enough.

slip that in a 07 gmc sierra

Why? when you can get the 6.2 with a six speed with TapShift.

They did make slight changes to the 4 and the 5 for 07 the 5 is up to 242 versus 225 for the 06 models, its a slight improvement. The 07 sierra won't have the 6 speed auto until the 08 model year, the 07's will retain the 4 speed.

There is a guy on coloradoforums.com transplanting either a LS1 or LS2 into a Colorado, I dont know if he has it working yet or what, but last I checked he was working out the details for a transmission.

That would be a nice engine to have in there. I am alittle surprised there isn't a colorado ss the way chevy loves to throw the ss moniker around nowadays. I'm waiting for an aveo ss, uplander ss and most of all the express ss.

Buy the Sierra Denali and you'll get the 6 speed

I was helping a co-worker (who is a member of some Colo' forums- but I don't know his screen name) do some research on what it would take to do it... His was a Z71 2wd, and we wanted to convert it to make it a safari/Dakar/Baja competetor - just street legal. It is possible, and not that hard, considering the worst part is getting the IP to recognize the inputs coming from the engine.

Unfortunately, he lost interest and bought an HHR. It's a nice car and I'm already working with him to S/C it just like the Cobalt SS's.... Oh well..
