they issued a recall for the turn signals

intermittent condition in which the turn signals may not operate as designed

[...]

cause the turn signals to flash on both sides of the vehicle when activated, similar to hazard warning flashers, or they may illuminate and remain illumated instead of flashing

I'm elated. I've taken my car in tons of times to the dealer for this - "There's no problem, it worked fine for us". I'd demand something free if they didn't already put up with me blowing electrical ****s out every other weekend. :D :D :D

Any news on make and models? Or are we talking 02-05, all models?

It applies to 2003-04 GMT360 models. You can read the entire recall and assorted docs (TSB, investigation report, etc.) at www.NHTSA.gov. I tried searching on an '04 Envoy and this new recall was the only one that came up.

Funny, I had an '04 Envoy as a loaner recently and the turn signals pulled the "not flashing" stunt a few times.

It's never happened to me in the last year. Should I even have them look at on the next visit?

I would take it in and have them replace it anyway

I recieved my notice in the mail on Monday. I knew it was coming because they announced the recall a while ago. The thing that makes me mad is that 2 weeks ago while I was off work I took the TB to the dealer. I had them fix the license plate pocket molding, and I asked the guy if they had the permanent parts in for the turn signal recall on the TB's. He said there is no recall and that I had all my recalls completed. After I realized it would be best for me to let him feel like he was a pro and I knew nothing, I just gave up. I can't wait to take this letter in and shove it up his azz.

I got the letter in the mail awile ago. I took mine in for an oil change and the recall at 8:00 in the morning, called to find out the status of the 'large' project at 3:00 and the service guy said it wasnt done...i asked when it would be and he replied "hopefully by the end of the day which is 5:00" i couldnt believe it due to the fact that they said that morning they wernt that busy so it should take a couple of hours, and i wasnt into walking home. they did get done at 4:45 as i woundered around the lot for an hour thinking it would be quicker to just trade mine in :duh: ...anyways thought i would share my great story of my local GM dealer...but in the end it was fixed and all better, so no harm, no fowl i guess
