Twenty's or twenty two's what do you have? Which ones ride better with a lowering kit?? Pictures would be great.

Thanks

hey...and welcome!! check out the gallery thare are a pile of great wheel shots in there, and also a great mix of both sizes. i am having the same fight with myself, i love the look of the 22's, but it makes more scense for me living in pennsylvania to run 20's just to have a little more rubber between the rims and the road (especially due to the cost of wheels these days :duh: ) i would say depends on what you are lookin for, less rubber means a rougher ride to an extent

Welcome as well. Currently, I have 20's but I definitely like the look of 22's better. I went with the 20's b/c of potholes and a bumpy ride originally. I'm thinkin when these tires are done, I'm gonna have to get some 22's. Course I'll need some $$$ to get 'em. Sooo, we'll see when that happens. New tires will cost $800 to $1000 alone. :duh:

Another welcom here. I'm currently running on 20s but thinking of moving to 22s. The only problem is $$$. :D

I have 20's and I used to wish I had 22's.

Now I have the Eibach ProKit suspension and I'm extremely happy with my 20's.

I don't have pics yet, but it definitely looks nice.

I currently have 20's but want '22's. Either will ride ok with a lowering kit. :m2:

I currently have 22's, soon to be drop 2/3 from belltech, and i love them. The look, the stance, it make a huge difference. 20's aren't bad at all too. They are really great deals out there and once you lower your car it just gives the car the style that the GMC/Chevy forget to add in. Personally I needed the extra 2 inches I felt up-grading from a Chevy Blazer with 20's I needed to up-grade my wheels as well when I got my Envoy. You cannot go wrong with either or. It is all in how you want to make it look, (location, money, practicality) but if I had to vote my tally goes for 22's.

Note: It is a lot easier to damage your rims if you get 22's-less meat on your tires.

Well I say 20's. 22's look nice if chosen carefully but they can make you ride look like you are "over-doing" it. (Cmdrrjc I think your envoy looks great)

Thanks TB_KY...Awesome pic yourself...You are right. sometimes 22's can be gaudy. C-God, basically, it is up to you. 20's are great and so are 22's. Be unique but also be conscience of what design will compliment your ride.

I have 20's and I've been extremly happy with them. Either 20's or 22's, as long as you keep them clean, that's all that matters. I think they both look great.

I have 20's with the GF lowering kit. I think the 20's fill up the wheel wells nicely. But I do have the factory running boards, so it gives it a good look. I see some Trailvoys come in to my dealer with 22's and even a couple with 24's, I think they look funny. But if that is the look for you, then go for it. As far as ride quality, the bigger the wheel, the worse the ride. As far as $$ goes, I am fortunate. I work for a dealership and get all my parts (including wheels and tires) at cost + 10%. I paid just over $1500 with tax for my Mossa 755C 20x9 wheels and 275/45/20 Eagle GTII's. Not bad, huh? I must have gotten very lucky with my timing, because I only paid $102 per tire! I don't think they are available at that price anymore.

24 or 26 inch rims on a TB or Envoy...now thats just crazy  . i'm happy with my 20s wraped in 275/45/20 rubber.

i have mine lowered on 22's, the ride isn't what it is stock, but then again nobody looks at your car when its stock :)
i'm putting together an airbag setup, i think it'll actually ride nicer on bags in back and bag-struts up front, plus it'll sit REALLY low when i lay it out. I'll post pics of the install as it goes along.

I just got my 22"s on yesterday with 265/40 Toyos filled with Nitrogen. I still have the stock suspension. I can say that I noticed a VERY SLIGHT difference in ride quality, but braking did seem a little heavier and longer. I am very pleased with the look and am glad I went with the 22s now.

yeah 22's are the way to go.
if you get 20's you'll eventually want 22's, so why not just get em right away.

i have 22's, but no drop ... and probably not in the near future

You will notice a slight decrease in ride quality, I think its worth it though.

I LOVE my 20's... i bought them because I live in BFE and I didn't want to bend a rim, BUT, after only a week, i wish i had gotten the 22's... You'll always want to go bigger. It's just a matter of your own opinion.
