Well , I finally picked up my new Envoy today ,but not without some headaches.Let me explain. I have been waiting for over a week for the aftermarket accessories to be installed , but it seems like something kept getting lost in the translation between the dealer and the outfitter. Let me vent!!!!

1. They installed the wrong running boards.(Made them take them off and replace with the right ones).

2. They tinted the windows too dark. (Made them scape it off and match factory tint like I told them).

3. They were supposed to paint OEM Denali grille and save factory one for me.Instead the removed the insert from the OEM Denali and installed it in the factory Grille to keep from having to paint. (I really did like the grille installed without the inoperable washer nozzels so I made them credit me 100.00).

4. I get home and take a good look around the Envoy and I am missing a center cap on the polished aluminum wheels.(Called dealership and said I would be there Friday for my cap even if you have to take one off a Envoy on the lot).

5 Dealership did not bother to screw On Star Antenna onto base on rooftop.(Called and also said when I come in Friday, this also needs to be taken care of).

How's that for a smooth delivery, But you know what ? I am in love already . This is the most beautiful truck I have ever seen, so I will forgive the Dealership when they make good on these small issues!!!

Thanks for letting me vent. Pics coming soon.

My sales guy was not there during delivery. He has had some ongoing family medical problems with his wife. I almost went somewhere else, but when a guy is constantly on his cell phone fighting back tears, I figured he might need the sale so I stuck with him!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the site! I hope your dealer's service department is a lot better than their sales.

Very interesting. When I got a '05 Denali Grille off Ebay, the body shop was able to separate for me. The problem was I had an '03 and the grille was made different and would not separate. So I had no choice but to get painted.
By keeping your OEM grille and having the Denali insert put in it, you actually got to keep an OEM paint job. Much better than having dealership paint it. No dust or runs, etc.
I thought the Denali Grille was already painted when it came from the parts warehouse :undecided

Anyhow, you got your new Envoy. Congrats. Looking forward to your pics.

I will say that at first I was pissed off when he used the insert instead of painting the whole thing, but after I thought about it I figured I would be better off keeping the original grille with the factory paint job.

Let me get this straight....you can pop out the denali grill without having to paint the whole front? So basically you can switch grills without taking out the piece the headlight washers are on?

Welcome! Sounds like a pretty lousy first experience indeed. You're a better man than me with that tude. Glass is half full huh? :D

Sorry I have been on in a day or so, but work YA Know!!!!!. MikeLTZ, my understanding is that it can indeed be removed eliminating the need to paint. I tried to find a reason not to except the exchanged inner grille I.E. looking for aweak point or missing clip or something , but it was just as solid as the factory grille and looks like a pretty straightforward mod.
