I jumped in the truck today, the light for the 4 wheel drive was blinking in 2wd. it stopped blinking, turned off and the N turned on. Whats going on, anyone else have this problem, i went somewhere and came back let it sit and started up, and its back to working fine???

Sounds like either the dash switch or transfer case encoder motor is acting up. I'm not sure how to pinpoint which without replacing parts!:o

This was a common problem on 2002s. I believe it was the tranfer switch going bad. There are tons of articles on this site about it.

My truck had the same problem, driving on the highway, it kept switching from 2 to 4 wheel drive...very scary...they fixed the switch and stuff, and ive had no problems since:)

Wasn't there a recall on the 02's for something with the transfer case?
If so, would that have been what the recall was for, the random switching/not working anymore?

Took the truck down to the dealer yesterday, he stated that all the recalls for that truck have been done by the previous owner :( man i wish they hadn't. Alright well I will surf around for a new switch for her.
Anyone want to pick this up and give/sell me the switch? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06-TRAILBLAZER-INSTRUMENT-TRIM-PANEL-WITH-SWITCHES_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ009Q QitemZ190027046600QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)

I have a '02 and have replaced every frickin thing on the 4 wheel drive and lastly replaced the switch and still have no 4-wheel drive. Sometimes it does work though but can't figure out why. When I had the beast in to fix it the dealer said they get a code from the switch. They wanted $200 to replace it. I think I pooped a little and told them forget it. I picked up one for $35 and installed it myself but didn't fix the problem!

Mine would do something similar when cold. It worked fine when warm. Had the dash selector switched changed and it's been fine ever since.

My 02 LS 4WD wouldn't shift into 4WD (light wouldn't even come on), and it turned out it was just low on Autotrak fluid. Added fluid and started working perfectly.

I have the opposite reaction. It's more of a puckering than a relaxing reflex. If I passed gas, it would probably give Pavarotti a run for his money.
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ?!?!!, AMERICAN????
