I just had my brakes pads replaced on my 03 Trailblazer and the brakes pedal goes to the floor if you press it hard. Is this normal or did the shop forget to do something? It stops fine and the ABS works fine. Can anyone help?

pump the brakes; when they changed the pads you compress the calipers and it pushes the fluid back out of the lines. That should help, if not check fluid level.

The may have gotten air in the in system & did not bleed it out properly. Could also be a caliper or master cylinder issue. Keep a lookout for leaks and fluid loss. Get it back in if it persists.

1. Did they use cheap pads?
2. Did they have anything hydrolic open?
Is your truck 4 wheel disc brake? If so it can take some time for the pads to seat. One or more of your calipers could have reversed the seal when they were pressed back and now you have excessive pedal travel.
