Mike J 09-25-2006, 03:47 PM I am in NJ and would like to lease a 4WD TrailBlazer SS in LT trim.
My dealer tells me that he can no longer get a 2006 model so I can't take advantage of those rebates.
Can you tell me what I will pay per month for this vehicle assuming 39 months, 12k miles per year and no money down?
Thanks,
Mike

Need to know the residual to get numbers to work.
Check with other dealers. Should be some '06's left. May have to leave NJ to find the best deal.
ScarabEpic22 09-25-2006, 07:26 PM I cant tell ya, but if you get one I want to see pics!
(BTW, the SS only is 2WD or AWD, not 4WD.)
ATV PRO 09-25-2006, 07:34 PM They still have 06's left on the lot in CT. You can try and figure out the lease numbers on chevrolet.com. That'll get you an idea but it won't be exact.

Using the GM lease calculator will be your best bet.

Mike J 09-25-2006, 09:36 PM Thanks guys.
I am hoping to close a deal by this weekend if the numbers are in line with my bank account.

Silver_06 09-26-2006, 06:48 AM on a 60mos finance?
There's no way...$30k @ 0% over that period would be 500 bills/mo.

Mike J 09-26-2006, 10:42 PM Hello folks,
Here is where I am at:
2007 Trailblazer LT-SS AWD
MSRP: $42,100
Lease Terms: 36mos/12k miles per year
Lease payments based on a price of $250 over invoice
No money down
$592 per month
That seems pretty good to me.
I don't have the residual value or money factor, but I will on Friday.
Best,
Mike

Is that including the $1,500 rebate?

If so, that's terrible.
Envoy Fan 09-27-2006, 10:51 AM  For $592.00 per mo you should own it.
junehhan 09-27-2006, 03:53 PM If that's the cost of leasing it, i'm assuming that's with little or no money down right? If so, that sounds about right for a $42k vehicle being sold at close to invoice. Have you worked the numbers for just going and purchasing it? I guess there is no need for that if you don't plan on keeping your TBSS for a long time. The bad news, is that you'll be limited to 12k miles a year :(
Mike J 09-27-2006, 08:16 PM That is for a no money down lease.
I was also told that the 2006 Trailblazer SS does not qualify for the $4,000 rebate. My lease price of $592 includes the $1,500 rebate from Chevy.

Find a new dealer. You should be able to get it at invoice - $1,500 on an '07. Look at the bottom of this link for the '06 rebates. $4,000 is still on.

junehhan 09-27-2006, 09:20 PM The $4000 rebate for 06's is valid till 10/02/06 if i'm correct. You can check on Chevy's website to see if it's valid in your region, but I was under the impression that this was nationwide. If your dealer lied to you, they are a bunch of scumbags. Because of the $4k rebate, I recieved a total of $8000 off of MSRP on the purchase of my TBSS last week. If you can find any 06's still left, you should be able to purchase a nearly fully loaded AWD for the price of an Imp SS
Mike J 09-27-2006, 09:53 PM Guy,
Thanks for all of the help.
Here is the link that I have that says the $4,000 rebate is not valid on the 2006 Trailblazer SS:
http://www.gmbuypower.com/viewCurrentOffersPage.bp?zip=07070
I am going to visit two more dealers tomorrow and hopefully get the truth.
Thanks,
Mike

GM Buypower has been wrong all year. Here's the link from GM directly stating it's on in your NE region.

Its 60 months $30k at $476 month. Sorry I forgot to mention its a lease.
I will end up buying it  I still get a big :D everytime I step on the pedal:crazy:
Mike J 09-27-2006, 10:14 PM 2002SLT,
I can't thank you enough for the help!
I am heading to the local dealer tomorrow with the information you gave me in hand. There is a loaded 2006 TB-LT-SS AWD about 30 miles from my home that I am hoping he can swap. If he can't produce, I will drive the 30 miles and close the deal myself.
Mike
2002SLT 09-27-2006, 10:25 PM Good luck!
junehhan 09-28-2006, 12:59 PM Mike, we all hope that everything works out! Hurry up and pick that bad boy up and have some fun. Even if your dealer ends up being less than honest and you have to make the drive, 30 miles is nothing compared to your happiness. Heck, I made the 95 mile drive to Columbus, OH to buy a car many years ago.
Mike J 09-28-2006, 07:18 PM Hey Folks,
The dealer told me that the $4,000 rebate is only good for a purchase and not a lease. Is this possibly true?
I am driving the 30 miles tomorrow morning to visit the other dealer and see what they have to say.
This has become frustrating. I just want to get the darn thing.
Again, thanks for all the assistance.
Best,
Mike
Rube1966 09-28-2006, 07:40 PM Sure its true.
You are not buying the truck you are only renting it. They can not apply the same discount to a renter as they would a buyer who is spending $36k-$42k in the case of a TBSS. With no money down you will only spend half of that over the lease term.
With a lease you get the huge benefit of getting a sweet ride with no down payment. But like everything in life, it has a cost. One of the other pitfalls of a lease is that since you have no equity in the vehicle you may become "locked" into leases since you have created a situation where you don't have the 20%/car to trade-in to finance.
You should always get a competitive lease figure from another dealer, but don't be surprised if their price is within $25/month of the price you have already received (assumming all things are equal).
Good luck to you. :)
junehhan 09-28-2006, 09:39 PM Ahh, I forgot that you were leasing it, and assumed that you would be buying it. I believe that is true that the $4000 rebate does not apply to a lease. Have you thought about just going ahead and buying the vehicle? Combined with the rebate, you should be able to get a price that is $7-8k below MSRP.
Mike J 09-28-2006, 09:49 PM I am somewhat fortunate in that I am able to write off all of my miles on my tax return. It's not quite as beneficial as it was a decade ago, but it still saves me a few bucks each year.
I have decided to order a 2007 in either silver or red tintcoat. The vehicle should arrive in mid to late November.
Thanks for the help guys and I look forward to joining your ranks very soon.
Best,
Mike

He's right. You might get the price about the same, but it would be a much longer commitment.

Either way, congradulations on your TBSS. I would go with the Silverstone metallic, but i'm biased. The silver is a very winter friendly vehicle, particularly when it starts getting coated with a thick bluish gray layer of salt. The silver will help to camoflague some of that salt, as i've noticed from when I used to own a Silver Birch Mercury Marauder.
TuneTimePerformance 09-29-2006, 07:51 PM Mike send me a PM I can get you one at invoice and hook you up with a Tune :D They will swap one out but they have 2 white and 1 black with a blue inbound . BTW I got my TB SS LT no nav or DVD $2500 down 334 per month 27 month lease 12k per yr . Thanks to Grandpa he worked for GM 35 yrs .
