The above recall was announced today. As promised, here are the VIN parameters regarding involved vehicles. Please be advised that the recall involves CERTAIN vehicles (not ALL VINS with these parameters). The VINS (last eight vin characters) are as follows: RAINER: FROM 52206047 THROUGH 52234384. TRAILBLAZER: FROM 52206042 THROUGH 52235018. ENVOY 52206044 THROUGH 52234545. This involves 2005 year model vehicles only. As far as glass types, there are only two styles of glasses. The Trailblazer and Envoy share the same glass. The only difference is whether on not the vehicle is equipped with RAINSENSE or not. The Rainer has its' own specific glass. I checked the validity of the part numbers. The part numbers of the "campaign windshields" are different than the standard part number for the windshield; the standard part number(s) have superseded to the "campaign glass " part number(s). I have seen this done during campaign recalls; sometimes due to a specific part revision, for specific identification purposes and sometimes to lower the price of the part they have to buy back. I do not know whether their is a physical difference between the standard and superseded windshields. Should I learn more, I will post accordingly.

I think we knew this was comming.... wasn't there a post about adhesion issues on the windshields? And that the difference between ranier/envoy denali glass and others was that they had "sound dampening" in them?

Yay. My number is over 30000 past this range. So I won't have to "break the seal" on the factory job.
What is the deal with the Rainsense part of it. Is the ones With or Without rainsense that are the problem?

It was me who generated the earlier post..I just didn't have the VIN number breaks as in this most current post. Vehicles which have the RAINSENSE option will receive a glass with an attachment ring bonded to the interior side of the glass. This ring is a mount which holds the RAINSENSE sensor itself. Attempting removal in the service field will result in a destroyed sensor mounting ring; therefore, different windshields.
