Question for you drivetrain pros out there!

I was on the Yank site last night (www.converter.cc (http://www.converter.cc)) and I am confused on the price difference on the PTB3200 and SSTB3600.

I tow a bass boat on occasion and possibly a little heavier boat in the future. I get the point that a 3600 might be too large for towing but why is the PTB3200 the most expensive? Any thoughts and reviews on installing the TRB3000? Will I see much performance from that one or is the 3200 better? I really like the price on the 3000 ($420 less!)but if I wont get much performance out of it.....whats the point!?!

Also, can this be installed by someone with moderate technical experience or do you recommend a shop?

And what do they mean by "efficiency" when referring to the converter?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated!

I have the 3600 and think it is just a bit too much stall for the street. The truck won't move at idle with your foot off of the brake. Mine actually stalls to 3800.

I'd get a 3200 if I were to do it again.

I have the Yank SS 3600. For the street, yeah the stall is pretty high. But driving manual transmissions all the time, not having an idle is really comfortable. It rolls back a little bit on hills too. Honestly, after a week with it, I stopped noticing it drove differently from stock.

I have the 3200 and it too is a little much for the street. You have to be very serious about your level of comfort.

I have the PTBSS 3200 and I love it. It is the way to go. I pull my Kenner 2100 Vision center console no problem.

Oh and the reason the Pro TB3200 is so much money is becuase it is a full billit converter bottom line better more expensive to machine parts on the inside.

Don't get the 3600 if you still want to pull that bass boat without problems.

PM if you want a good price on on that converter I will hook you up:yes:

Great feedback on the Yank. I would be curious on a price. I am a ways out but it if you can get a good price, let me know.
