I am looking at installing a set of strip 16 inch wheels that are light for my TBSS. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Thanks,
Chad

FYI, 16" rims wont fit an SS, they are too small to clear the brake calipers in front. Need 17" rims at the min to clear the brakes.

Yes, not sure if they make our bolt pattern though. Summit sells them in the mustang bolt pattern. Maybe call Weld or a distributor? I wonder if they have blanks that could be drilled to fit?

Yes. just google them. However I am doubting they make it in the TB bolt pattern.

Talk to Rim1 (new supporting vendor), he seems to have pretty good prices and is willing to help people out.
Just saw one of the packages he put together for $1700 rims+tires+lugs, and those are the only aftermarket rims I would get for a TB IMO.

Sorry I should have clarified that I was going to run 16 inch wheels in the rear. I tried fitting the C1500 16 in wheel but the bolt pattern was not correct as the C1500 is a 6 lug on 5.5 center of hole to center of hole. The TB uses a 6 lug on 5 in center to center.

I know that some TB's came with a 16" black stamped steel spare with a full size tire. Did any come with a similiar 17" spare?
Hey chad, when you get a chance... drop by the shop so we can get some measurements....and find out what'll fit in there for ya
it'll benefit us both, i'm sure. :D

Only regular TBs with the 4.2L I6 (and maybe the 5.3L V8).
So will 16's clear on the rear?
They should clear on an SS, yes.

Thanks for the info, have you for sure test fit them? I don't want to buy the spares/tires to not have them fit.

if you use stock 16; or 17" aluminum they would be plenty light. i have a set of stock rims with slicks and they weight in at just under 25 lbs

Redhawk says the 16's won't clear the rear brakes. :(
Back to the drawing board I guess.

Well I am ordering the wheels now and will trial fit them. I hope to have the wheels by Mon. If they fit or do not fit I will post up.
