Took a little trip today (about 60 miles round trip). Was 98% highway miles. Drove it very gingerly....
20.5 MPG !!
I am liking that. Like the fact it will do a 5.1 sec 0-60 too !

That's about what I get on the highway driving back and forth to work.

Nope, filled before and after just to make sure. It did match what the DIC said in this case.
I worked very hard and saving fuel. Was not having much "fun"

Complete ADM package. Tune, CAI, 4" MAF, E-fans and UD pulley.

70 average. Coasting a little going down hills and picking up speed and letting it slow to 65 up hills.
The above mentioned parts helped considerably.

Speed is a big key. I averaged 80 mph on a trip up north but still managed to get 18.8.

I am currently averaging 15 mpg overall. I do 50/50 highway/street. I also have a very heavy foot around town. I also egg on anything that I think should be fast. :D

Hi:
I've gotten it to 17 with a Vector Tune, CAI and cold tire pressure at 39 lbs. I also run the A/C. Are you guys running A/C while getting 19 - 21 MPG? I'm wondering how much affect the AC has on MPG?
Thanks

I have an extremely hard time believing those #'s because I drove from Chicago, Ill to San Diego Ca., averaged 80 on cruise control, no a.c. for 30 hours/2200 miles and the best it told me was 13.8.

I never get decent mileage on cruise control either. Not to mention between the windy city and the coast there are a lot of things called mountains.
I am sure that mileage suffers at 80 too. I know mine falls off.
I was BABYING it. As if it was my last gallon of gas.

I drive 80 miles on I-85 around Atlanta every day and keep the truck as clost to 72 MPH as I can with no cruise (can't use cruise the way people drive around the city anyways). Tire pressure is kept right around the mfg. recommended 32 and the AC is on. I get 20 MPG and no I'm not relying on the DIC cause my truck doesn't have one. LOL, my truck is DIC-less...

E-Fans helped alot with MPG gains, like 1.5mpg or so, but having a Remote Start REALLY eats into it!! this thing idles using about as much gas as a 4.2 at 60mph:D ... 14.3-16 cruising around, will dip into the 13's if i beat up on it and get 20 on the hwy at 75...

I don't believe most of these numbers as well. Drove to Chicago and back to St. Louis last weekend at 75mph and Avg 15.5 with my AWD. I don't do much better than 13.5 driving around town. I don't think there is any possible way to get 20mpg with any TBSS no matter what.

how are you guys calculating your MPG? Just making sure you are doing it right. You have to divide the amount of miles you got on your last tank of gas by the amount of gallons you put in. Just a heads up.

121 miles and filled when I returned. 5.9 gallons. You try the math.

pretty incredible. My C5 with a 6 speed AVG's 20mpg with mixed driving. It's just hard to believe a 5000lbs truck with aerodynamics of a brick and 50 more HP than my C5 can get 20mpg. I guess the electric fans net 5mpg? I need to get those.

MPG = miles/gallon...would have never guessed :D . If I can't get this calculation right, I need to resign from my job. I reset my trip-odo every time I fill up so no guess work here.
My C5 automatic got 24 combined. Looks like you have have a case of heavy right foot.

you never know A lot of people have no idea where IL is in the United States lol. A lot of people don't know how to figure MPG. That's just the way it is. My C5 will get 30mpg on the highway but yes I have a heavy foot. Will my TBSS get over 17mpg on the highway with the cruise set at 55mph? No way! Do you guys have special TBSS's over mine? probably not. Look at most of the avg's on here. The majority are around 13-17mpg. That sounds realistic. Even when the sticker on the car says it won't get those kinds of numbers how can you guys claim that? I have never seen a car in my life that got over the MPG that the sticker claims. Just pointing out some facts.

So basically the AWD is eating 5.5mpg more than the 2WD? I can't get over 15.5 on the highway. I have a diablo tune and a K&N. Both gave me about 1mpg better than stock. I was getting 14.5 on the highway before.

Well I dont think the AWD eats that much and I know the E-fans are not that much MPG gain either. I think the E-fans and the UD could be 2- 3 total but I dont know. I did CAI, Tune, UD and e-fans at once. I dont know where it came from.
I do know that the big mechanical fan GM provided on these trucks is stupid. I like the truck so much better with ADM's kit which cant tell from factory because it uses factory parts !
And as far as cruise control, I doubt I would get in the 18's on cruise unless it was very flat. I can always get better mileage myself than on cruise.
I think decent gas (92 in my case) helps mileage too.

I just went on a road trip down to the track and got 15.6mpg according to my display... which is damn near exact when I double check it.
