Tommy, I have a question about why the "New Posts" icons don't get refreshed when you do a refresh screen on any of the menus. It seems that you have to log out and log back in order for these icons to display properly that you have already read a topic.
Any ideas?

I have noticed this also and currently seeking help from Jelsoft / vBulletin as for what could be cause this to happen. I hope it's not another bugged version. :(

I just spoke to a vBulletin developer, and he said that this is how vBulletin is designed to work. Its session based. After you read a new post, the status icon will still indicate "new post" until you log out, or your session expires (currently set at 15 mins of inactivity), or you can click on "Mark Forums Read" Link on the forum index. Also, he suggested that to go right to the new posts, use the "New Post" link in the Forum NavBar. I never even notice that link... LOLOL :)
I think we are noticing it now because of the higher activity on the forum. It does make sense to have this done by user session instead of a database keeping track of who read what. That would be a query nightmare.
Hope this helps.
