What is the best stuff to use to clean the plastic vapor film off of your interior windows? I have used Stoner,RainX and plain vinegar and water and all I keep doing is smearing it making it worse.

Im not sure about vapor, but i use ArmorAll Glass Cleaning Wipes, i squeeze the liqid from the cloth into a "blue shop towel" (the kind on a roll) and wipe down the windows with that, and it never smears :D Quick and easy too :D

I have good luck with Stoners, but I do have to do it twice, and use microfiber towels to remove the product.

Armorall has a really good spray product - i have had no smearing problems of all. Too bad it would not get rid of the Envoy power window scratches.

Other than a good Vinegar & Water, which is what the GMC dealer suggests as the best, I've had great results using 20/20 Glass Cleaner. (Its put out by Eagle-1, the same folks who make the tire shine & hi-gloss wax). That stuff cuts through just about anything without any chemical odors.

If you ever need to remove film from the outside of the front windshield, buy a can of Bon-Ami Cleaning Powder! - Don't use any other cleanser, their original clean powder is safe for glass & mirrors and won't scratch. (Supposedly their cleanser is also safe, but the original formula cleaning powder is the safest). - This suggestion also came form the local dealer, as they use Bon-Ami to remove sap and oil residue as well as the white discoloration that occurs from the environment.

Good old fashion Windex with ammonia and newspapers. Use the newspapers just like a paper towel/rag. No streaking, no lint.

I use Stoners invisible glass and shop paper towels that you can get in the box. Think they are made by Scotts and are blue.

I use deer hide. It's big leather piece and it dries the whole car w.o a SINGLE streak.

I never have newspaper around so I use either rags that haven't had any fabric softener added to them during wash or super cheap paper towels that don't have wetting agents. All of that stuff causes smearing.

window wipes and glass plus makes it look good...until the sun hits it. The best thing is to use rubbing alcohol and cotton squares

I also have had the best luck with Eagle One 20/20, and a small cotton towel. No streaks at all (I hate streaks). I've tried many others over the last 10 years, including Stoner, but keep coming back to Eagle One.

I used a concentrated window cleaner from car aroma. It's a high concentrated window cleaner that has no alcohol, aumonia, just take a cap full and the rest water in a spray bottle with a clean rag or old t-shirt and wah-lah, clean windows with no streaks. Here is their website www.cararoma.com. They have a complete line of auto detailing products and painting supplies.

It's that stuff that gets on the inside windows from the plastic and leather interior of a car.

I use Rain X Anti-Fog Glass Cleaning wipes...works pretty well. Even gets off the nasty salt water film I get from living at the beach.

Weird, I just thought that was dirt and smoke. I never have a problem cleaning my windows. I use amor all glass cleaner. I clean all windows one time with the same rag. I get the rag really saturated good with cleaner, plus I spray it on the windows. Then I wipe them all down really good and get into the corners well. Then I go over them one more time with a clean rag and some more cleaner. Then I take a micro fiber rag dry(no cleaner) and wipe them all down one last time. It sounds like it would take a long time, but actually it ia maybe 15 minutes for all windows inside and out. The outside windows I wash with the car and then I just spray a small amount of window cleaner and wipe off with a clean micro fiber towel.

You can get the micro finer towels at Wallmart for about 8-10 bucks for a bag with either 10 or 15 in each bag. I can not remember if they are in the auto section or cleaning supply section though.

I just use the shammi with a little water on it (not enough to effect the actually weight of the shammi) and it works like a charm.

I used that Rain-X Interior glass cleaner and didn't like it.

BTW, I would be careful with using household glass cleaners on the outside glass. Household glass cleaners are not the same as auto glass cleaners, and can damage the paint. :)

Use the Blue Glass Micro Fiber towels. I've found that really, really helps. I also used the Stoner Invisible Glass but then I tried GM Glass cleaner and now that's all I use. I LOVE the GM class cleaner! I buy it a case at a time from the parts department at the dealership. I've got many of my family members using it too. My wife uses it all around the house too. I like it so much better than any watery spray glass cleaner.

Stoner is some good stuff. Walmart $3!

If you like the stoner glass cleaner, get yourself a can of the GM stuff. I liked the stoner too until I tried the GM. I found the GM to be less runny and streaky.

A buddy of mine over the weekend told me a lil secret about window cleaning products. He said go down to Home Depot and in the janitorial section theres this product that cleans glass superbly and its the bomb for chrome rims. So i tried it and its really amaznig stuff. I bought a plastic squirt bottle and filled it up about 1in or so high then rest water and man my chrome rims looks pretty sweet. I will get name as iam forgetting it right now, but its 3 letters.
They have cleaner for reg or tinted windows. If you want to get name from me i will post it when i find my receipt as all my products are not at my house right now.

Spong, yea that it and it really works great for me. Like i mentioned a buddy of mine details cars and he told me about this stuff and i already like it. Like i said you put about an inch or so of ZEP window cleaner (NOT THE TINTING ONE) in a plastic spray bottle, fill rest of bottle with water and for me it really polishes up my chrome rims. He told me to stray away from abrasives on chrome as no matter what you will scratch them because of whats in them. I use to use Meguires, etc but this chit works way better and so much faster. He even said that after time the chrome will start to rust because of the harsh stuff in the over the counter chrome cleaners. I don't know what others think, but i love this stuff.

In case your looking for a line of detail products my friend orders
www.allbriteusa.com (http://www.allbriteusa.com) products and nothing else and he runs a pretty good sized detail shop.

I learned alot about detailing now that i have a new SS.

I hate streaks as well and have tried tons of different gleaners.I was using Zep aerosol glass cleaner from Homedepot for awhile. Then I found the Eagle 20/20 like other people have said and will never use anything else.Ive been using it for only a couple of months but its never failed me.

Its the only cleaner that I've ever bought that does what it says!
