With the weather in Michigan right now a balmy 38 degrees I got a neat little message pop up on my DIC this morning when I started it up. It normally comes up "TRAILBLAZER SS", but with the weather today it said "POSSIBLE ICY CONDITONS" or something along those lines. Thought it was kind of "cool", excuse the pun:rolleyes:

Ok that was funny...

I got one a while back, something along the lines of "left turn signal on" when I forgot it was on. (i had a senior moment:eek: ) i saw it, fixed the turn signal, and then it went away. I tryed to get it back, but I couldnt. Does anyone know about this? Or am I crazy?

In the Envoy 2003 Owners Manual, all the possible messages thru the DIC are listed and explained on pages 3-59 thru 3-62. Ice Possible is one and Turn Signal On is one. The turn signal message comes on if you leave the signal on for 3/4 mile (1.2 km) and a chime sounds to alert you.

I hated it at first, but i'm starting to really love the DIC in our vehicles. I wish that it could also crack automotive jokes, and add some flavor into your day.

does it come up on the LS's too, or just those fancy LT models?

I think that the TB SS's with the LS trim only have a partial DIC :x

I'm not sure, but maybe like a random joke of the day would display on there everytime you started it up. Or perhaps even crack jokes based on your driving style at the time.

I got the same message when I started it up to move my boat after winterizing the engine lastnight in the same Michigan weather. My hands were numb, I was shivering and all I could say to the DIC is "No $h!t"

I got CHECK TIRE PRESSURES!, scrolled threw and there were a couple in the high 20s. After a couple of miles the warning msg went away.

Here's one I would like to see added to DIC. Maybe 25 miles after the "Low Fuel" message comes on:

"You'll be walking soon!!!"

eh, that's ok. i dont need some fancy computer to tell me it's colder than a witches titty outside. i figured that much out as soon as i walked out the door. i didnt buy it to tell me the obvious either. i bought it for the 400 little shetland ponies under the hood :D

That would be hilarious. Is the DIC a separate computer from the car's ECM? If so, I guess the messages can't be messed around with when getting a tune.

I was driving with the cruise control on Saturday night, and once the "Ice Possible" message popped up, it cut the cruise control off. I was able to resume it, but I just thought it was a nifty safety feature. I wonder if non-DIC vehiciles would do the same thing once the outside temp. hit the ice possible mark.
