Would anybody be interested in having a big meet next summer? We could plan a spot and then have alot of people comming.

I picked next summer because i will have my licence by then. :)

Just wondering if anybody wanted to do this.

Just an idea.

We could also go on a drive or somthing. See the sites and talk to each other on a CB radio. :D

lol i would not make it to Kansas City unless... nah, i coul;d not make it lol. My mom might be going to Nebraska some time in the next few weeks, but i dont think it will be then.

But lets plan some time next June. We can meet here in MN or IA or where ever. :D

Im okay with anywhere as long as its less than 10 hours lol.

We can do a long weekend type thing.

All right.

So upcomming midwest meets. knsas City and say.. Minneapolis? I could call up a Hotel around here in EP and get rooms. Maybe for a discount.

Lets try to plan somthing. And get names out.

So, midwest meet.

Next summer, somtime in June. Located in Minnesota, or some place different? And it will be a long weekend.

Count me in as well.

Kansas City only 3 hours away and Minneapolis is about 6-7 hours.

I would do either.

I have never been to a meet. What do you do? Is it a lot of fun to be around car junkies like ourselves?

10-15-2006, 11:18 AM
^I have not either but i guess you just meet in a big parking lot, stand around, talk about cars and other stuff, then drive around. lol

I think it should be somewhere near a dragstrip that we could arrange to attend, be it a normal bracket race day or a day we could rent the track. If this becomes a yearly event, get it near a track from the outset and start working with that track from the first year. A day of show and shine(maybe Friday) and a day at the track(maybe Saturday) is probably the most appealing to the masses. Just my input from past events.

I am in as well. We should have it at Nowalk, rent the track out for the day.Plus cedar point is about 45 mins north of it. Make it a yearly event. Just like they did when I had my lightning, or the Zo6 fest that is at B.G. every year. :m2:

If we are talking about a TrailVoy national event, and perhaps we are, we need to figure out where and then decide when. It seems like perhaps St. Louis to Indianapolis would be a good area. Everybody from TX to MN, CO to PA would be about a days drive away. St Louis is about geographically centered, but that might too far for the east coast folks to have to travel and Indy might be too far to get the Colorado and beyond crowd. The larger the city, the more hotel choices and theoretically, the cheaper the event would be for most people. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this started and start polling people on the best location? Anyone have any relationships with track owners in the midwest?

kansas city would work good for me
there is a drag strip in kansas city if i remember
there is one in st louis
would need alot of planning
there is a small drag strip in asberry mo 15 min north of joplin
there is also a theme park in kansas city (worlds of fun)

Gateway Raceway is an NHRA approved facility about 2 minutes from downtown St. Louis. I would be more than happy to help in the planning if its going to be here. I don't have time to plan the whole event though

We have Brainard International raceway here in Northern MN but thats probably too far and i dont know if they would let people rent it or w/e.

But thats a good idea. Have people drive down/where ever Thursday or Friday. Do the show and shine Friday. Do a track thing on Saturday, maybe after that we can go for a drive in like a pack or somthing, before heading out.

If i were to do this i would need to bring my friend along to navigate. lol.

Im not sure i want to drive all the way to Missouri like, 3 months after turning 16 lol. i think my aprents would say no. Maybe some place a little closer? Iowa or Wisconsin or somthing lol.

St. Louis, MO
Kansas City, MO
Chicago, IL

I think KC or St Louis thats the heart of the Mid-West. That would be ideal. But I say we all agree on one place so we can make it happen:D .

Don't you mean West Des Moines?

I didn't realize there's a huge difference, but there is... The last time I was in Des Moines propper, the row of police cars cruising the streets were giving me awfully funny looks, i.e., it was time to leave!
