All I know about the red N is that it means your transfer case is in neutral, which is mainly used to switch into 4WD Low. It is also used for towing a 4WD TB/Voy. I think there was a recall or TSB about transfer case programming or something like that. Sorry, but Im not much help on this one.

I had this problem on my 03 just before I turned it in, so i didn't get it fixed.

I had a lot of problems with the light just flashing, or not changing, or as you said, starting up on "neutral"

Just restart the car, should reset everything. Write down what happened and take it to the dealer

Yeah I suppose i could just take it to the dealer but shes not under warentee any more so its an OPE which just blows.

I had the same problem, the dealer just changed out the switch for a new one and its fine. I think it was a short in the switch that made the problem, i have heard of alot of people with 03's having the same problem

my 2002,had to have the switch changed too?but i had no lights, does you truck go into 4 wheel drive,to check it, just go to a parking lot and switch it to 4wheel drive, and going slow in a circle, if your in 4wheel drive, you'll feel it, but i suspect your switch went bad
