I got the old screw in the tire. Just want opinions on wether I should plug it or have the tire taken off the rim and patch it.

Thanks

Its in the grove between treads. The screw is not all the way in.

I know where I'm at, Discount Tire and NTB will often patch it for free.

I wouldn't do a patch or plug. I would do the combo which is the patch and plug in the same deal. But, I would rather go with option c:, New Tire.

I always go to the tire dealer, I've never been charged and if the tire needs to be replaced, they will pro-rate the wear. Good deal.

Sounds like a plug job to me..certainly your local tire/auto place will do the right thing.

Having a pro patch it is best (safest), but I'm too lazy...I just plug them myself - takes about 5 minutes, then I don't have to drive anywhere, pay anyone, don't even have to take the tire off.

In 20+ years of plugging tires, I've never had one leak or prematurely fail.
