Yesterday I saw a TB SS with red lights and siren... I imagine it was a Hatzolah EMS member (because that's who has red lights and siren here in Brooklyn).
Just curious if it was any of you. Saw it crossing Kings Highway and Nostrand Ave yesterday... its light package was pretty sick.
Now that's good utilization of the SS!

I think i'm going to have to start going to the BK more, and see if i can see this guy which by the way must be an idiot. Why even have an SS if you do that job? Yeah it gets you to the scene fast but your running the risk of damaging it especially in brooklyn

This is a little off topic; but i was on the New York state trhoughway yesterday (over by Erie in western NY) and saw a white trailblazer with emergency lights pulling somebody over. I was not marked with any stickers but i guess that it was a cop. I was shocked when i saw it

I am from Buffalo and frequent there very often... Several police agencies use Trailblazers as unmarked vehicles. In New York slick tops or uncovered vehicles can make traffic stops and that was one

:undecided I'd love to put a light package on my SS and use it as my patrol car  . Of course the dept. would have to pay my payment, it would only be right

Tell me about it.
I look outside my window and:
2 2004 Tahoes
1 Honda Pilot - that's a laugh
1 Lexus (the big SUV)
A couple of impalas
1 Black TB SS
1 Black TB LT (This guy is either a cop, or a deuchebag EMS worker that pulls people over for fun... I saw him pull over another vehicle, no ticket though)
1 Toyota Camry
1 Infinity R35 - the coupe... if that's the right model
It's really ridiculous... but then my understanding of Hatzolah EMS is that everyone's a Captain - when you apply they start making up your white hat.
OH and PS, on a recent (and random) trip to Walt Disney World - they are hooking up all their security vehicles in Trailblazer LSs... I only had a junky camera phone though, no good pics.

For some reason, the local Sheriff's department has started using Trailblazer LS and LT's for patrol duty. I saw a blacked out TB behind me yesterday pull some guy over who was speeding. It actually looked rather good because it was completely blacked out with the Sherrif's logo, and the low profile light bar on top. I've also seen them using Exploror's, Expeditions, and YUkon's for speed and traffic duty.

My favorite patrol car was my 9C1, but I'd have preferred in LS2 powered TrailBlazer if I was still in law enforcement...like a TBSS with smaller (but more durable) 18" steelies, cargo cage (removable, preferably), and maybe a stock LS or LT front and rear fascia, so as not to increase the costs much.
It would have been FAR easier to get my large frame in and out of, but even for normal size people, I think from a patrol perspective, it would have made an excellent patrol car. Good room, view, visibility for deterrence, versatility, and the rear drive characteristics law enforcement expects.
From a maintenance and cost perspective, I dunno...you start maintaining 1000 patrol cars, and the numbers get really important. Chevy was pushing the Tahoe police package aggressively when they disco'd the 9C1 (Caprice), but costs and concerns about high speed stability delivered most customers right to Ford. It's a shame.
