'05 TB Keyless entry

My '05 TB came with a remote keyless entry system, but no audible alarm system to go off if the doors are opened. I want to put in a keyless remote starter system and alarm as well but want to keep to the same brand as the factory install if possible. Does anyone know what brand the keyless entry is made by or what is a good brand to go with as an additive? Thanks.

Well you're not going to add the same "brand" because it isn't available in the aftermarket. I've always had good luck with DEI (Directed Electronics, Inc.) alarms and stuff; but it's been a while since I've had an aftermarket alarm in a vehicle.

I have an 04 Trailblazer LT and I am almost positive that if I open the doors with the factory alarm on, my horn will start beeping. I tested it once when I first got it. Your horn doesn't beep???

I know my '02 Envoy does it; but the factory system doesn't have glass breakage sensors, tilt sensors, nor will it work if the lock is jimmied from the outside. The only time I have ever seen it work is if you have the window open and the doors locked, and someone unlocks it manually from the inside and pops the door.

You may have that option turned off. If your TB has the D.I.C., you can check this by going into the driver option buttons until Alarm comes up. I think there are 4 choices:

Horn Only
Lights Only
Horn and Lights
None.

Check your manual to be sure.
