welcome to the site guys. ^^Might want to start another thread. whats wrong with your vehicle?
as to the gear oil problem, i had problem with a gasket leak on the differential between the engine and the transmission (right next to the oil pan). From my understanding, they had to either drop the tranny, or the engine to get to it. The part only cost me $40, the labor was about $1100. The dealer i bought it from agreed to fix it though, since i had newly purchased the car.

it might not be that big of a deal. when did it start leaking? do you know where its leaking from? if not, get it checked out right away before something bad happens.

:hijacked It's been leaking for about 6 months now. Gear oil is down a bit. I will have to clean everything underneath and then watch where it's coming from so I can decide what to do next. :ugh:

Hey Bot, I would absolutely try cleaning & sealing around it without taking it apart ...first mebe even some 5 minute epoxy stuff?, shouldn't make it worse if your not too aggresive at cleaning...I'm cheap that way...sounds like, reminds me of tranny, transfercase issues, back in the day...if that doesn't work mebe sneak a gasket in there with out dropping anything?, I Know you can do it you have ... Canookian Ingenuity... right?:bonk:
