To help do our part, I have put up a Red Cross banner that will be displaying across the site. Donating online is quick and simple. If you can spare few dollars, please donate.

Thank you,

I just had my wife donate $100.00 last night to the Red Cross. I t is a real shame to see what those people are going through. I hope the the American spirit can still stay high and get through this. :)

Hey guys. Thanks for all the kindness. It will go a long way. My family and I were some of the (FEW) lucky ones. My house has some roof damage from a large branch and other flying debris, chimney is gone, and a tree fell on my truck. But the most important thing is that everyone is safe and healthy. No water damage or flooding (I live on the outskirts of N.O. on high ground). This is actually the first time I get online since last Saturday. Had no cable internet, phone or power.

Has anyone heard from some of the other guys from N.O.?

Glad you and the family are OK. Anything we can do for you from this end?

Thanks for the offer, but I could not accept anything. There are so many others in the heart of N.O. who weren't as lucky as we were.

Where in N.O. are you located? My father-inlaw lives in Gretna, how does that area looks?

One point I'd like to add, many businesses are matching employee donations so be sure to check with your HR before you donate on your own. Anyway we can maximize what we give...

This is an absolute tragedy and my prayers go to everyone hit by Katrina. :worried:

Our hearts go out to you, all of you. The company I work for is also matching every dollar we donate. With 50,000 Employees we will help out as much as humanly possible. Our Prayers go out to everyone.

I donated through work, I think they are matching up to $150k so hopefully there will be a good turnout. Anything you can spare will help, even if its just $10, if we all pitch it adds up.

Moral of the story: Never trust government employees. We've seen how PennDOT operates, Tommy. Apparently FL's DOT is the same way...
