I had a post in the thread about problems I had finding the right trans filter. Should help.

Yep, napa or carquest is your best bet for the correct trans filter. I'd leave the old filter neck seal in the trans if it wont pull out easily. Another thing you might consider once the pan is dropped, is to install a universal drain plug kit from napa. All you do is drill a hole thru the pan (in an interference free area) and the kit has all the appropriate parts. It's just a bulkhead type fitting with a drain plug. Makes for easy drain/fills! Here is the drain plug kit: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=BK&PartNumber=7041074&Description=Oil+Drain+Plug+Kit+-+Universal

if you haven't found out already. I am pretty sure that all tb/voys have the deep pan. I have yet to see one with a shallow pan.

Interesting, I remember hearing one guy had a shallow pan a while ago (summer 05) when I was doing my trans pan drop and fluid change.
Best way to make sure, get a tape measure and go measure it. 2 7/8 is a deep pan, 2 3/16 (or something like that) is a shallow one.

I just got done building 1 and it had the deep pan. It was a 4l70e though.

Shallow, deep, it doesnt matter. As long as you fill per the OEM dipstick and use an OEM filter, you are good to go. The more space between the filter and the belly of the pan the better (deep pan). More space for the trash to pile up on an old tired trans and more ATF capacity.

really? your '02 has a shallow pan? I have never come across a shallow pan on a tb/voy. I stand corrected. I have only seen shallow pans on F-bodies.

My 02 has a deep one. I measured it before I left to get the filter parts, as I didn't want to end up buying the incorrect one.
