Ok.. From reading some threads i presume the muffler is the long thingy under the passenger side..?? :undecided ..
I got a strange 'sniff' comming from me TB.. smells a tad waterish /oily.. but i got no leaks.. no mayo on the dipper.. trans oil is clean.. only thing i can find is a drip of water from the muffler so i suspect tis the problem.. :undecided if it is.. I'm gonna be pissed.. any idea's would be welcomed.. :worried:

The muffler has a hole on the rear bottom that water condensation drips out off. I don't quite get what you're asking for :undecided

Please clarify what the question is. It is normal for a small amount of water to drip from the exhaust. Some times their will be none, sometimes their will be a pretty constant drip. It depends on the temp and humidity and blah blah blah. You get the point.

I raised the truck today to spray the rear calipers and i noticed a drip f water from the muffler every 1-2 munites
there were about 6-7 drips of water which made a small puddle :undecided

So now I'll just have to crawl around and find the cause of the 'niff'..
Mayo on the dipper  .. water in oil emulsifies.. it looks like crappy mayonnaise on the oil dipstick  hence mayo on the dipper
(makes note to self.. dont confuse our american cousins with home based slang.. )

Just a thought, check the fuel tank fill hose. They have had a few issues. Its possible yours is cracked and letting some fumes out.

I still havent gotten over the mayo on the dipper thing.. I'll get passed it...
Anyway... An oily smell might be a cam cover or rear main seal leaking a bit on the exhaust. Water out the tailpipe will be noticeable with cooler ambient temps. I forget the number exactly, but I think for every 7gal of gasoline you burn, one gallon of water comes out the exhaust (in the form of vapor).

hmm, i actually understood what he meant with the dipper and mayo... and Im mexican.... I quickly knew he meant water in oil....
anyways...
yeah, look at small cars with small exhausts systems... they drip very little.
Look at older american cars- the long ones, and look at their tailpipes- ALOT of dripping. On my 70 Monte with a 350, I can revv engine and leave dark water spots on a wall...
Turns out that because these cars have LONG exhaust systems, the vapor in the exhaust cooled down in the cold pipe and turned to water... and soon you had a nice puddle buildup (also consider atmospheric conditions) so it took a while to warm up the entire exhaust system to a temp high enough to maintain vapor in that state.
Also, older cars tended to rust mufflers FAST because of the buildup and use of metal in the old exhaust systems.
Smaller cars warm up faster and thus big puddles arent as noticeable.
also exhaust systems now fancier exhaust metals i think.
