Man, the SS forum has been deader than dead lately. Is there really just not any new info out there? Is the hold still in place? Is everyone just getting bored with the seemingly never-ending wait?

Chevy is scared S*itless about this SS!!

Think about it..Putting out a 391HP truck w/ current gas prices? They'd get killed, who (unless the loaded) would buy the truck, other than the diehards?

I read their marketing guy say in an interview that the buyer would be the family man who's wife told him to go out and get an SUV for the family, but he wants horsepower, so it solves both.

If a guy came home w/ an TBSS w/ supreme gas at $3.69 a gallon. She'd chop his balls off when he went to sleep!!! And hopefully a working man w/ a family would also view the current situation, and think the TBSS being unreasonable.

Just my $.02 :m2:

That makes a lot of sense, but I don't think it's what's holding back the release.

You've got a lot of gas guzzlers out there - I haven't seen people stop driving their escalades, navigators, or hummers here in brooklyn.

Again, when you look at the big picture, if you can afford both the vehicle and its insurance, chances are you can deal with the current gas prices.

Like I say to everyone around:
So you don't get 7 cups of starbucks this week, you get 6
So you don't get 7 packs of cigarettes this week, you get 6
So you only get 1 6 pack for the weekend, not 2

The people that can afford to drive will still drive, but if all wants to remain the same we're going to have to cut a few corners here and there for things that we would typically buy.

Think of it this way:
Average gas cost $1.50 gallon - 1500 miles a month, 20mpg = $1350 yearly for gas - $112/month
Same with $3.00 gallon average = $2700 yearly or $225 a month
And this is being drastic, meaning that over an entire year you're paying roughly $3 a gallon.
So across the year $112.5 a month is being blown away on additional fuel... so change your lifestyle to conserve $112 a month by cutting back.

So if it's important to you to drive the same as you did prior to the gas increase, cut back on amenities and luxuries that you "treat" yourselves to.

Otherwise, decrease your cost of driving by driving less, driving more efficiently (car pooling, etc), or not driving at all.

So wait... am I missing something... did they release the vehicle in Saudi Arabia but not here?????

I'm confused... my brain hurts.

I am new so if it is out there already sorry. I have a 30 sec. video if a Trailblazer SS spinning doughnuts with a corvette. It can be found at this link:
Chevy Ballet (http://www.frontiernet.net/~face440/Chevy_ballet.wmv)

I hope this is not old news.

Thanks for the video. I have never seen that personally. I can get used to seeing that kind of ballet any day.
