Most of the smaller U-Hauls use 1 7/8'' hitch balls. Larger ones could use a 2 inch ball... and if you get a big big trailer (14'' or more) you could be using a 2 5/16'' in ball... Any of those will do nicely on hitch ball receiver with a 2 inch drop on it.

Contact UHaul before hand and make sure that you have the right sized ball mounted to a tow bar (2" drop will probably get you to the right height - the trailer should be level when hooked up). Also find out about wiring. Chances are the trailer won't have a 7-pin connector like your TB so you'll need an adapter. They may be able to supply you with one or an automotive supply store or RV dealer should also have them. Check the mechanical condition of the trailer before you leave the lot - some of them aren't road worthy. Check the tire pressure in the trailer tires. Feel the hubs when you stop - they shouldn't be hot.
Towing advice - leave extra stopping room. Keep a light foot on the "go" pedal. Try to keep about 15% of the total weight on the tongue - too light and the trailer could tend to sway. Secure your load well, even if the trailer is enclosed.
Backing up - definately takes some practice. You turn opposite the way that you want to go. A trick that I've learned is to put your hand on the BOTTOM of the steering wheel. To turn right, move the bottom of the wheel to the right and vice versa. Best to have a spotter and use your mirrors. Find a big empty parking lot and practice a bit before you hit the road.
Lastly, use your common sense. If something doesn't seem right then stop and figure it out. Good luck with your move.

If the trailer does have a 7 pin make sure your TB side works since it IS an issue for me anyways...
