I noticed this morning going to work that the 4wd in front didnt came in when I turned my button to 4H. I only heard as usual the 4wd kick in rear but when I turned my steering wheel I noticed that there was no stiffness turning as usual. Has anyone experianced such problem. If someone one knows the problem I would appriciate comments.
Is such problem costly ?
By the way my vehicle is SLT 2002 model Envoy and has been driven 107.000 km.:worried:

Could be your A4WD switch ( most likely ) or a relay switch on your transfer case!:undecided

I'm gonna say its probably the A4WD switch itself. Two of my friends had their switches go bad, each of them twice! My switch behaved strange once. My dealer told me to cycle the switch through every position several times. That seemed to resolve my problem.

Did the switch mode lamp indicate it was in 4wd? If the *4wd* lamp was on, you were in 4wd. You shouldn't really feel major resistance in the steering wheel. If you are, turn off 4wd.

I have checked that out. This is not the switch itself. There is something going on under the car in front. On the right site the axle seems to be loose. The reason is that my wife went to the store and put the car into 4wd and see did turn the wheel all the way and than something happened she says.
She told me about this yesterday. ggggggrrrrrrrrr you can imagine how happy I was...

That same thing happened to my Bravada about a month ago.... Mine was replaced under warranty fortunately, but they had to replace the whole front axle driveshafts on it which wouldn't be very cheap.

They were so loose in fact, that you could physically wiggle them around about an inch each way with your hand.... Not good at all. Get a dealer or shop to check that out for you.
