Hi,
On my previous vehicle; 04 Yukon Denali it would flash through the DIC to Change Oil when you start the truck. But my TB SS DIC does not do that when the oi life is at 0%. Is that just how it works for the TB SS or should it flash?

You took it to 0%?

I'm not sure what you mean by "flash". Do you have an LS, or LT model SS?

I had no intention of doing that, but it happened. It's a LT model. Sometimes the DIC will display certain messages like "Ice Possible", etc. I though it flashed at 10% but maybe I'm wrong.

I am surprised that there is no check engine light or something..

How many miles did it take to get it to zero? I dont think I know anyone that has every done that?

Mine was at about 9000 mi when I changed it at 20% if that gives you any idea. I only go about 7-8 miles to work, so I think with more highway miles it might go even higher. My DIC never flashed any messages, but I did get an email from Onstar when it hit 20%.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that about Onstar.

I read the owner's manual (what a concept) and "Change Engine Oil" does come on when you start the ignition for 10 seconds. Oil is changed and all is good.

Mobil 1 is good for up to at least 15,000 miles. Guys on LS1.com tested it years ago. The filters are what could not hold up. I will run mine to at least 10,000 miles before oil changes. Waste of money otherwise. Oil is that good these days. 3000 mile oil change days are long gone.

 Wow. Its not that I couldnt wait until 9,000 miles its just Im too darn anxious and I love working on my 'Voy too much to wait that long :D Ive let my DIC "oil life remaining" get to 40% once, that was about 4,000 miles, and 4-5,000 miles it usually when I change the oil.

Our extended warranty company makes us change it every 3125 miles. The DIC usually ready from 50% - 65% engine oil life remaining :weird: Stinkin' warranty company :D

Even worse when its a SS that requires Mobil 1. Just the oil and filter can set you back some $$

According to the owners manual and the letter I just received in the mail from the dealer; You must change your oil within 600 miles of the "Change Engine Oil" light coming on.

That's crazy. I just bought GM Major Guard Protection Plan which is a comprehensive plan that works just like the standard GM warranty.
