Has anyone replaced the factory tires with anything other than the stock goodyears? Also has anyone tried any other size other than the stock size. (I saw some earlier threads discussing 265's but no one said they had tried them). If you have let me know were you picked them up at and how much.

I have stock sized Michelin's and they work. Use the search function and you will find all kinds of opinions on tires, different sizes and different brands.

I think some others had posted that you can squeeze a 265 on an 8" rim although that is beyond the recommended tire size for an 8" rim. The BFG KDW always is highly recommended for great dry traction, not exactly sure what sizes it's available in. tirerack.com is your best search for all tire brands/sizes/pricing

I have 265 winter tires on right now, and I haven't had any problems yet.

I went with a 265/50-20 Nitto, but also switched to a 8.5" wheel. The tires are great, but not sure how they would work on the stock wheels. Good luck!

I just put a set of Michelin Diamaris 255/50/20 on and they are MUCH better than the stock GY RSA's in every aspect except the price!

Haha, at that rate you're going to need new tires every other month.

I had these tires on my 05 trailblazer (ground force lowered with SS wheels), and they were great. They didnt rub, were quiet, and I had no abnormal tire wear from the extra width. They reviewed very well on tirerack and are very reasonably priced imo. I had these with 1"/3" drop and the hotchkis swaybar kit and it handled better and rode nicer than my SS. I think most of that is due to the factory goodyears (I dont care for the goodyears).

You were able to get these mounted on the stock 8" SS wheel?

I just put a set of Michelin Diamaris 255/50/20 on and they are MUCH better than the stock GY RSA's in every aspect except the price!

Do they ride smoother than the awful Eagles? I'm looking to switch early...but I was looking at the Michelin Latitude Tour HP rather than the Diamaris because I was looking for a softer ride...frame isn't stiff enough to support the feedback from the 20's and stiff springs.

has anyone put a 305 or a 315 on theirs (width)? im looking at a set of 22x11or12" HRE 475's with 20x9 up front, and i want to go with a wide rear tire

I got 295's right now, would have went with a 305/315 but didn't want to waste perfectly good stock fronts and they Goodyear RSA's only come in 295's to match the stock 255's. Spring time, some 315's will be going on when the fronts are ready to be replaced too:yes:

The Michelin Diamaris are much quieter and ride smoother than the RSA's, it is really no comparison. The Michelins have better wet and dry grip also. The only drawback I have seen so far is the high price of the Diamaris.

ive got the toyo proxies on now, and i am very happy with them. not too pricey either. around $150/ tire. very aggressive tread design too! not as cool as the BFG KDW 2's, but still nice.

Noooo! Look again. Tire Rack has about 6 or 7 different tires in the stock TBSS size (255/50/20). Prices have fluctuated greatly on the RSA's...(not that I would consider them), and they stopped carrying a Continental that they had about 2 months ago, but compared to 12 months ago, they have a good selection, relatively speaking.

Thanks for the tip. I've never been disappointed with any Michelin...and the price isn't outrageous...I still think I might go with the Latitudes though. I'm a stickler for ride (not so much for handling) and the Latitudes are more of a touring tire (but still speed rated), so I would think they would ride softer.

You gotta pay for the "bling" factor of 20 inchers...

But I can remember many years ago when I had to pay inflated prices because of my "advanced" 50 series V rated 16 inch tires, though, too...so I imagine eventually we'll laugh at this notion of 20 inch tires being unusual.
