does anyone know anyone that sells or can make a clear white cap to replace the yellow cap or lense whatever you want to call it on the driver and passenger mirrors (for turn signals)?

anyone know if you can add the turn signals on? I heard somewhere that they are already prewired, it's just a matter of popping off the bottom plastic part and hooking them in.

I dunno about that, but I've heard that you can do it with a replacement of the whole mirror assy.
I immagine just changing the lenses would be cheaper though. In fact that would be cool if it really would work.

You don't have to worry about going to that forum that often. They seem to get about 2 posts a week.

True, but they do have good tech articles. I like the one about all 4 headlights on when the hi beams on.

Yeah. Looks like the webmaster there does a good job of explaining stuff.

The wiring will not be included, however you can get comparable wire from any stereo shop or even radio shack; just needs to be a sufficient grade of electrical hook-up wire.

Bulb yes, wiring no.
In the interest of being lazy, I ordered them on-line from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com instead of the dealer, which is a few miles away.
If you haven't ordered from them before, they are an on-line store for a dealership, so they have to order the parts and then send them to you. In other words, for a special order item like this it takes a few days. But hey, they're just as cheap as most dealers even after you factor in shipping, and I didn't have to drive the 15 miles or so to the dealership. :p

Well, I just now finished this project. It was raining the weekend I had originally planned to do it.
It took me around 3 hours, but if I had to do it again it would have taken me maybe an hour tops. It is just that I ran into some minor issues that burned way more time than they should have. Like soldering on the wires to the little connectors to slide on to the posts for the lights, they are smaller than you would think. And I did a piss poor job of splicing in one of the ground wires and it took me 30 minutes to figure out why the light wasn't blinking...
The instructions are very complete, and they were so well written I would not rank this a very hard project. All in all, I would suggest anyone considering this to go for it, with the step by step instructions anyone should be able to pull it off. The only thing I did differently was to go ahead and seal the hole I drilled for the wires to go through so water can't leak, it probably doesn't matter but I feel better being careful.
:D

I did mine 2 days ago and I it turned out perfectly. If you live anywhere with the possibility of rain (aka those not in San Diego) and have a garage, I would recommend doing it all in there. It would rain for about 10 minutes every hour or so, and I had to work inside the TB to not get the wiring wet. And I cut the (4) 4 ft pieces of hook-up wire and connected them to the bulb socket before I even went outside. That saved some time too...

Believe me, it is extremely SIMPLE to do. I had basically no mechanical or electrical skills before I started working on my TB last August, and I havent done much because it sits 25 days out of the month. I have posted what I used on automotiveforums and it doesnt take much time, even for me. It took me about 4-6 hours total, with pulling the panals off, removing the mirrors, wiring, etc.
Here's a link to the thread:

Hope this helps!

You can get em from GM in another month or 2. The '06 TB and Envoy's have clear (almost looked smoked) on some of the new models.

Get out... Awesome!
Let us know when we can get a part number... I'd spend another $24 for those!
