It should running to your CAI tube.....

That would be the breather stub for the PCV system. That needs to be connected to a filtered air source ASAP! You are drawing dirty unfiltered air directly into the crankcase with that being open to atmosphere.

It shouldn't, but I'd get it hooked up to the clean air tube and do a few short cycle oil changes, maybe one at 500mi and another at 1-2Kmi, then back to normal. You will get dirt in the crankcase with that stub open like that.

So would it cause any problems? Sorry but you got me worried now

It should be connected to the nipple sticking up at the bottom of the pic (on top of your valve cover). That's your PCV breather that needs to go to the intake pipe.

Actually you're emitting crankcase vapors to the atmosphere not drawing unfiltered air into the crankcase. The small amount of blowby at the pistons causes positive pressure in the crankcase. The PVC system is there to take the vapors and redirect them into the intake so they're burned in the engine instead of discharged to the atmosphere.

While that is indeed true it only pertains to an engine that is running, when its off there is a chance that particulate matter may settle or float into the open tube. Not to mention that air is now bypassing the filter on the intake tube. (I do not believe there is a check valve on the line)

Yeah i noticed it but didn't have time to go buy a hose for it. I was looking to buy a small breather filter

That can't be good....don't want to **** with the warrenty.
But K&N makes those small breather filters FYI. Although I don't know if they are emission friendly....might be breaking some emission laws with it. I'd check. Used to run one on my other vehicle a while back but took it off because the car was a heat score and I found out it's application was illegal here in Canada on my vehicle. I used to go to the track and the street races.....the officers had the Ministry Of Transportation emmissions test vehicles on the street to bust the racers any way they could ( don't blame them becasue a lot of the young kids had some CRAZY illegal mods ie...cut stock springs and car was SLAMMED to the ground with no wheel clearance at all, no emmission equipment) but I didn't want the car impounded. Just to let you know.

Under low vacuum conditions like going WOT, under hard accelleration or on a severly worn engine, you are right, you may have some blowby blowing out of the breather stub on the cam cover. Under most all conditions however, this is the "in" side of the PCV system. That is why it is always tied to a clean air source. The PCV hose that goes from the top of the block skirt to the intake manifold is the "out". Clean air sweeps in thru the breather, mixes with the vapors in the crancase, gets sucked out thru the PCV hose and combusted in the combustion process.
